My second accessory added is the rough country trailer hitch. It bolts on the to frame behind the rear bumper with four bolts. Yes I had to remove the entire bumper to install it even though I saw YouTube videos of people with similar hitches slipping the bolts on with the bumper still on. There was not enough room for me though I tried many times. Getting the bumper back on by myself was not easy.
Then I got a parking sensor fault warning and the whole system, front and back, stopped working. I took the bumper off again and checked the connections.
day 3 I sprayed wd 40 on the two main harness connectors on either side. I also pushed down a little white piece inside the connector trying to see if it was misaligned and blocking.
I’m happy to say it works now for the time being. But I broke the clip off on one of the main connectors while removing it. So it may vibrate loose. I may try to buy a medium size zip tie and somehow wrap it around it. I’ll add the trailer break light harness at a later time. I’ve only tested the parking sensors once by backing up in my garage. Hopefully they’re permanently restored.

I've had some difficulty with factory plugs and the zip tie trick has always worked.

I had the same issue when I installed my hitch, and a ton of people screamed "You don't have to drop the bumper!"

Hitch looks good
