Hello! This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your Bronco. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd like to see how I can assist you on my end.
In my two years on this message board the funniest thing by far is that @Ford Motor Company responds immediately to a thread on rusty accessory bolts while ignoring a 200 page thread on exploding 2.7L engines.

You take either #7 or # 8 torx, ( can’t recall exactly)turn it counterclockwise, take out the bolt, sand it, prime it, then paint it black. Allow it to dry for 30 minutes, and then using the same torx turn clockwise to reinstall. Skill level “ Easy”. Total time, ” 30 minutes”. Or you can go back to the dealer, file a warranty and wait six weeks( if you are lucky) to get new bolts. The choice is yours.
