good afternoon! I grabbed the script emblem from bronco graveyard; removed the posts; touched up resulting bare metal. Now, I'm curious if someone can give me the best/correct adhesive to apply to the back for installation. Found this, https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40065949/, but it seems too good to be true. Two reviews; one great/one terrible. Thanks for any feedback. Cheers!

I also used the VHB tape. I epoxied the inside of them to level out the badge before I applied the tape. Applying the tape was a tedious but fun project.

Yep, that’s the one to buy; it’s a bit expensive though!

I looked all over New Jersey at AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, Pep Boys, etc. and NO ONE had the 3M press-in-place adhesive, and no one could order it. I presume it's out of production, and only available by resellers.
Like the above posters, I used the 3M tape on my plastic 3d-printed script emblem. I carefully cut around the lettering with a sharp curved toenail scissors, probably taking about an hour each, while listening to good music. Through a brutally hot summer, so far so good.
Whatever you do, don't try 3M 77 spray adhesive like I did- it melted in the hot sun, freeing the logo.

Just be sure that the surface is properly prepared for adhesion. I believe there is an adhesion treatment for the 3M tape that makes the surface tacky first. Or at least make sure that it's really, really clean (I used an alcohol wipe).

Might be to late for you, but Amazon has the press in place.

I order the black chrome script emblems from CJ Pony Parts, removed the mounting pins (not drilling holes in my baby) and used this to mount them https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40069527/. I filled the back with resin to form a nice flat surface then custom cut with an Xacto knife. So far so good they have stayed in place through the tail end of a Minnesota winter and a crap load of mud.

Thanks to all! Just finished this project. Pretty tedious adventure! Bought from Bronco graveyard, cut pins, touched up with auto paint, filled with epoxy, backed with 3m VHB, trimmed with xacto + nail scissors(killer tip Jack D!) Now, i resume the wait for something to mount them on😂(build week this week🤞)
