I’m looking for advice or thoughts on using seadek as an option for a sound deadening headliner. This is not an invitation for the trolls but really looking for advice. Researching the product it appears to be an attractive alternative with endless color and texture choices for more than half what the OEM version cost. If your not familiar with seadek check it out. Here are just a couple of pics of its common uses.
any advice or suggestions much appreciated.

I’ve use it on boats. Very durable and easy to work with. Interesting idea but no idea how it might work for sound deadening. Also there are many professional installers who use paper to make templates then cut the product in their shop. Once they get a pattern then can save it digitally for more jobs.

Curious if you're trying to cut down on the noise from outside the vehicle or the booming drum sound that the hard top panels make when you go over bumps. At low speed, the center panel vibrates like the inside of a bass drum. thats the sound that I wish to eliminate.

Hey just saw your post. The booming drum noise doesn't get as much discussion as it should. One thing I did to mitigate was buy 2 short pieces of 2x4 wood and wedge them above the rear roll bar and the rear hard top ceiling. This cut down on some of the boom coming from that rear portion of the hard top. Obviously doesn't do anything for the middle portion but it does tangentially provide a little more rigidity for the middle portion to rest against.
