I think I’m in the minority and like the gray but if white is offered I’m getting that. Shadow black looks nice but going to show a lot of scratches and swirl marks

FWIW I don't mind the gray. On the Badlands at least.

I feel like the gray looks decent on the Badlands because it matches the grille and I believe the wheels also have some carbonized gray on them. As someone who beat the crap out of my wrangler hard top (not intentionally) and never thought twice, the painted modular top makes me nervous. Black shows EVERYTHING. I know I it will make me reconsider tight trails.
The only reason I am still considering the modular top is for the ability to remove the rear windows on the two door. I probably would have gone soft top only if that were an option. The modular top will give me almost the same open air experience without having to find somewhere to put the entire top.

Probably to make some extra MONEY, by selling you an option. That is the typical manufacturer's Business Plan.
