Had my share of black cars over the years - yeah you could argue that antimatter is dark enough to be black, so why not just get black. That's what makes this world great - you can have your own opinion and your own flavor. If there was no other color in the options list - I'd still probably shy away from black...just don't have it in me to obsess over the level of cleaning I'd have to do to keep my sanity.

Despite dressing in black all the time like I'm going to a funeral, I prefer my cars in interesting colors. I had a black FRS and it was just not fun to live with in terms of heat and keeping cool.

If you’re going to have a black SUV you shouldn’t bother with washing it frequently or being anal about the paint showing swirls and dust and the tiniest of imperfections, rather wear those like a badge of honor in the tough Bronco that takes a shower once every few months and that’s only when it happens to get caught in a rain storm.??

If not, it will enslave you.

I’ve had black on every truck and SUV I’ve had. This time around I’m going Blue. IF... I fall back to Black it’ll get wrapped in Matte Black vinyl.

I think the black trail rig 2 door bronco they did was the best looking one so far, and that was without the Sas package. Anti matter blue and rapid red are my favorites, but iconic silver and Area 51 look pretty good too. Unpopular opinion, but yellow is the worst color.

I owned a brand new black truck. It shows every little scratch and ding. It shows lots of swirl marks. It gets covered in dirt and dust overnight. It was difficult and time consuming to keep clean. It gets very hot in the summer. Never again.

I have since had two white SUVs. It looks clean all the time. I cannot see scratches and swirl marks. It stays much cooler in the summer. I will likely always have a white vehicle from now on.
problem with white is it gets dirty quick as well. and you also get fallout. (little surface rust spots from bits of metal on the road).

Personally I prefer the black hard top with the Cyber Orange over the white. But opinions are like butt holes. Everyone has one, and they all stink.

True. But really noticeable on white.

Black looks amazing on cars with a lot of curves like a Porsche. The Bronco has no curves so it just doesn't have an interesting look to it at all in black. Just some random SUV. Putting black wheels on them makes them even less interesting.

You need to put a lot of aftermarket stuff on them to give it some character.

If you want to see why black isn't a great color, just go on Craigslist and scroll through the motorcycle ads. This will best exemplify what I mean by the following. The majority of bikes on there will be black. After a while they will all start to look the same and you'll find yourself passing the black color bikes and stopping on the colors.
https://columbus.craigslist.org/d/motorcycles-scooters/search/mca

It's a very boring color, and if you look at it a lot you'll find it hides the form. You can't see bends and accents. It flattens everything. It's one reason out of shape people love black. Another is that it's slimming, and that applies visually to cars too. It's a great color if you don't like your shape because you'll look like every black car out there, or in this case jeeps.
Black used to be "classy", black tie, black limo, etc.. But it's past the point of saturation and ended up in the realm of bla.

It's another reason I hate the interior color as well, or hate the lack of options on the Base...

It's kinda boring and cliche though.
Every car on the road seems to be black white or some form of grey.
I'm done with boring color cars.
Boring colors = higher resale/trade in.

Black is out of style. So, that's part of it. If you live in a "warm" climate, you risk BBQing yourself on a sunny day in black. As for your last point. I haven't seen that much media with black recently. White is the hot color.
Out of style? You seriously make major purchases based on what other people think is cool?
