Update #4

I now have almost 1300 miles on Bessie thanks to a 650ish mile road trip to Charleston, SC for two weeks of training for work. Won't get any use while here, locked down at my location. Her highway manners were fantastic. Spent the entire trip on ECO mode and didn't have any power issues. It was a little louder than my F150 and road noises were weird to get used to, but I think I have a handle on them. Fuelly is showing 17.5 mpg and trip was showing 18.5. I think I'm closer to 17.5 as one of my fuel ups was a little short of a full tank. Not the best mileage, but at least I'm already close to 18mpg as Ford stated.

Also added to initial post!!

Meet BESSIE, still need to name her!! Base 2.3 Sasquatch in VB!! Got her with 6.1 miles, dealer hid her way back in the corner of the lot so no one would find her. So for the big question I had...the 2.3 in a 4 DR Sasquatch is FINE!!. Not on fire like the 2.7, as expected, but has more than enough useful power for me!! Radio is useable but I see what everyone is talking about, speaker replacements will happen in the future. Bumpers, rock rails with step and armor are currently more important. I also included the plate that I have applied for!!

See updates after the pics!

And here are the pics:

UPDATE #1

I now have a little over 100 miles of seat time in her. 40% highway, 60% suburbs. I still standby with the 2.3 being a fine little engine. Used just over a quarter tank. Looks like a safe range on this is going to be in the 320's til I need to start paying attention. Seats are really comfy for me and multiple other people have liked the seats.

Weird side note, you don't need super long charging cords, especially in the front. I overshot the length by at lest 2 or 3 feet. Backseat makes more sense for the longer cord.

Will be taking it out later to test the headlights and show her off a little more. Should have close to 115 miles of seat by the time I'm done today.

She hasn't been off-road yet, but she has salt and French fry bits from lunch and sand from sand volleyball in her now!

It is safe to say I'm loving her!!!

Wireless Apple CarPlay is awesome.

UPDATE #2

I have 180 something miles on her. Still in love! I have named her "Bessie". Still can't get FordPass App to connect, really don't care...Apple CarPlay was my big need.

Update #3

Over 300 miles on Bessie now. Did about 60 miles in ECO mode. Could tell a difference in shift timing and throttle response. Have just under a quarter of a tank left. Probably get gas tomorrow. Showing her off to a bunch of Jeep people tonight!! Should be fun!!

I am in the Cincinnati area too and I have a 4/22/21 reservation date with King's Ford. I have not heard a peep from the dealer about ordering and now I am seeing folks that placed orders over the summer. I called Ford directly in early September and they told me the '21 order banks closed on 3/19/21 and would not reopen until mid October for the '22 model year. Any insight or thoughts on what I can do to at least get an order placed so I don't get priced out of any model year. Thanks!

'22 MY order banks open I think on the 13th. New colors and options are available, including a killer green that is available on all trim levels. You can also call and talk to Kody Lowe at King's. He was really helpful whenever I called.

Short update on Bessie....I now have 2250 miles on her. She is rolling good. Mileage is a touch lower than anticipated, but still far better than my old F-150. Whole family likes her too. Top back and windows down is the normal.

Congrats 🎊🎈🎉🍾 thanks for the mpg info too! I’m going with the 2.7 and my biggest adjustment is going to be mpg. I current get about 28 city in my tiny boxer 4 cylinder so dropping to 17ish will take some getting used to. Looks awesome!

Ugh, I have left multiple messages for Cody and no response. I don't understand why I was told the order banks for '21MY closed in March if the dealership was still able to place orders as late as SEPTEMBER!! Grrrr. (I am happy for you though and your review makes me even more excited if/when I am able to get a Truck)! Thanks.

I may have a bias here, but VB is absolutely the best color. Can't wait to have my VB Badlands sometime in December!

Another update.....have just over 5k on Bessie now. Round trips to Charleston, SC and Gulf Shores, AL (with a side trip and back to Mobile, AL). Fuelly has my average MPG at 17.4 with a best MPG of 19.6. The 19.6 come running 90 Octane ethanol free gas using cruise and sticking to 5 over on the highways from GS up towards Birmingham. 3 of the last 5 fuel logs were over 18 MPG with two of them over 19!!! Just found a station locally that sells ethanol free and will use that for fill-ups when I'm in that area. Oil change and 5 tire rotation was done at 3171 miles and plan on doing oil change/tire rotations every 5K. I just need to give her a bath to get some clay and sea salt off. Did a touch of very very light "off-roading" at Fort Morgan.

I should also add that I use ECO almost 100% of the time. Unless I know I want to launch from a light or accelerate out of an apex, then I use the default.

Very happy with my purchase. My wife no longer wants a Jeep, she loves how Bessie rides and drives too!! Still debating on upgrades....reason I bought the Base. I figure stereo upgrades are still a first priority, followed by adding a good set of yellow SAE fogs in the bumper. I just need to decide if I want to upgrade the bumpers first! Stereo upgrade might just a simple LOC, mono amp and tailgate mounted sub-box, but will probably also have a 5/7 channel amp wired in at the same time.

As a side note... I saw, three Outer Banks in Cyber Orange, while driving around GS and coming home. Also saw a Cactus Big Bend...we actually cruised side by side up Route 65 for a bit and a Black 4 DR, think it was an Outer Banks also. A dealer in Foley, AL, I think that was were I was, had two Broncos in the showroom.

Another update..... Been playing around with ECO and Normal modes. Normal just feels better to drive, but a little more of a hit to MPG around town. Highway they seem pretty equal mileage wise. I have 9508 miles tracked on Fuelly. 17.4 average, best of 19.6. Last tank was 17.9 with a road-trip from Cincinnati to Athens to Lancaster to Logan to Columbus to Cincinnati. Trip computer mileage seems to be just over 1 mpg optimistic.

Bessie is still the go to for road-trips, mileage be damned!

I should also add that I will be adding a Kicker Key Amp with a wiring harness from plugandplaykits.com. Just waiting on the harness!
