Silver Lake Sand Dunes - End of September

Hey everyone!

Just got home from a week long trip to Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Met some awesome Bronco people, had some amazing weather, got the bronco loaded with sand and had an absolute blast.
Tried a bunch of new things, I have to say the drag strip racing in Baja mode is probably my new favorite. These broncos can just handle anything you throw at them and I'm loving it!

Great pics. Silver Lake is one of the greatest places on the planet when you have a 4X4. I have gotten air so many times I lost track. The sunset gathering is always a great way to end a perfect day.

Absolutely! I'm so lucky to live only 2.5 hours away. I foresee a lot more time there next summer.

Sweet. I'm in FL now, but when I was in northern IL, my group of Ford Raptor friends would head there whenever we had a chance.

I’m curious if you have to do any special clean out after so much sand? Rock crawling, creeks, mud don’t make me nervous but wondered about the grit of sand getting into drivetrains, etc.

I can't wait to go there. Potentially headed to Drummond Island/Holly Oaks in May or June and might have to fit this in....

That is quite cool, In Michigan? Anything like that in the Southeast? Maybe thats worth a trip to see!

Probably, for insurance reasons, call that "Sand Cruising on the Strip" instead of "Racing" which may not be covered!?!

I'll be taking the leaf blower to it tonight before I wash it. The sand is pretty light, so it doesn't really stick.

Nothing broke, thankfully. I've been out a few times this year and the Bronco has held up great.
Silver lake is on the east side of Michigan - it's the only thing like it that I know of. We had some in our group from KY and TN that came up just for the weekend to play.

post 9, he means west side. dm me if you wanna meet up and hit holly oaks. i'm 15 mins away and haven't been yet. been on the west coast for almost 2 yrs now we're back. check out the mounds in mt morris

The mounds is also on my list! Will definitely do that, would be cool to get a group of us to go out.
