Howdy All. Well this week in TN we had a yearly snowfall. I decided to try and use slippery mode, because the roads were pretty much ice. I had a neighbor that needed a prescription picked up, so I said I would go for them. I get in my Bronco select slippery it sets it into 4A. I get to the store ge out go in get the script hope back in the Bronco and it ask if I want to stay in slippery mode. I said yes. Get home and park it for two days. I get in and it ask if I want to stay in slippery mode, I said no. It went back to normal mode, but stayed in 4A. I tried this in my truck also, and it did the same thing. You would think if it is smart enough to put it into 4A it would be smart enough to put it back into 2H. Just seems strange to me. No complaints just an observation.

Yep, does the same thing (i.e. stays in 4A) during switch back to normal from Sport mode as well. I suppose Ford does not believe being 4A is anything other than normal

edit: I have not tried slippery or any other mode other than normal and sport...I'm not much of a mode sort of guy :ROFLMAO:

I figure it is normal, my F150 does the same thing. It is just strange that it will turn on 4A but not turn it off.

I imagine it is intentional from Ford. It isn't hard to miss the reminder message on the dash, and imagine having to manually select 4A each time the truck starts in winter. I am guessing customers would be livid having the truck default to 2wd on every start. So probably the easiest way for Ford to keep folks from complaining too loudly and with 4A they don't have to worry about drive line damage like with 4H/L.

I've yet to push that 4A button. To quote the great lebowski, I still *&#@ off manually.

I find that any GOAT mode does this, I experience it in Sport all the time, when I haven't over ridden it to 2WD.

More evidence Ford didn't intend 4A and 2H to be interchangeable vis a vis usage. 🤔
