Mine's been doing this for about a month now. I have noticed on colder days it never happens, but when the temp is over 60 it happens at every stop I make.

There have been a few possibilities thrown around as to what is causing this to happen. Has actual issue been pinpointed yet?

2 door 2.7 Sasquatch. I noticed this a few weeks ago mine does this as well. Not every time though- once in a while. A distinct thud when taking your foot off of the brake at a light. It does not do it often or consistent enough to bring it in to the dealership and demonstrate it yet though. I had a hard enough time when my front driveshaft went bad with a whining sound and it made the sound all of the time, they finally replaced it.

THIS....exact same with me. Live in ontario. Never does it in winter or spring. Soon as summer arrives, it starts happening.

This is 100% transmission related. Dont believe me? When coming to a stop, slow down and very gently come to a stop. When you feel it downshift into 1st, it will not happen. If you brake and you dont feel the downshift to 1st, more often than not, youre going to feel the clunk when stopping, or when you let go of the brake. Ive been doing this all week and it went from every stop to every 10th stop or so.

Winter, transmission fluid condensed. Doesnt expand as much as sum.er. Lower fluid, doesnt happen.
