So what's the deal with MSRP?

I'd been in the market for a new Bronco for a few months and pulled the trigger last week. So, all the Broncos I looked at were selling above the MSRP. Is that a thing with Broncos? The dealer informs me that Broncos are "hot" right now. They even had a "market adjustment" sticker of +$10000 on the Bronco I bought (I beat them down on that). I'm old school and am accustomed to getting a break off the MSRP. So, what's up with this?

Mine is a Big Bend but has the hard top, towing package, and modular bumper. I wasn't able to beat them all the way down to MSRP.

Varies from dealership to dealership but two weeks ago I picked up a big bend with Sasquatch, 2.7, and hard top for msrp in the exact color I wanted. Took about a month of researching and contacting dealers.

Im on a few Bronco For Sale facebook groups, and right now almost every post Im seeing that isnt a heritage or raptor is at msrp for on the lot Broncos regardless of trim or packages. A month ago that wasnt the case at all.

My dealer i ordered my 2 door BB thru guaranteed an xplan equivalent discount below MSRP. Im hopeing its not the old bait and switch , it will be my 3rd purchase from this dealer but i wont buy it if our agreement isnt honored and it'll be the last time i ever set foot on their lot.

I got my wildtrak at msrp to order it, this was 18 months ago. Off the lot they were selling at $25k over msrp.

It’s still sometimes hard to get them at msrp today.

Imagine the UAW strike might impact supply and pricing potentially

If you know what you want and dont need it right away, call around. All of the dealers I contacted in my area would do MSRP for ordered broncs.

I'm not referring to listings on dealer sites or cargurus.

The postings on the facebook groups are sales people from dealerships putting up trucks as they get rolled off the trailer with pictures of the trucks and window stickers. Over the past month or so there has been a noticeable shift from well spec'd Broncos consistently being marked up to now being advertised as "for sale at MSRP" for on the lot dealer orders (Raptor and HL excluded but there are a ton of Raptors being listed every day and the ADM is dropping).

Ford was supposed to crack down on dealerships adding additional markups. The dealers plays a game an adds stuff like interior guard an paint protection an maybe some added on gimmicks an charge 5 grand for $600 worth of stuff nobody wants.

Was considering a bronco upgrade / Braptor, but the dealers refused to put in the order unless I agreed to 25-50k above msrp

I just bought a 2023 Wildtrak today, with Lux and hardtop at msrp. I have a hard time ever paying close to msrp, much less at msrp....so it was a tough pill to swallow.

Are you new to this world ? Many in demand vehicles are selling for over msrp. The S stands for suggested. Market sets the price. you have 3 years of reading to catch up on.
