Software update next week??

Couldn’t find another thread answering my question exactly. I went to Vegas off roadeo last weekend (a blast) and the guides alluded a couple of times to an update coming to all Broncos “in 11 days or so” that would give everyone a digital cluster similar to the raptor. I am obviously aware we all have the useless analog ones so it’s never gonna be the same as the raptor, but anyone know if this tidbit they said is accurate or if not what they were referring to?

I got my wildtrak in February and I am pretty sure I have never received any updates, and I have it enabled, is there any way to check

I just looked up a brand new 24 with everything up to date and it shows -GB

The truck I posted was on Sync 23159, so I don't trust that one has the latest IPC update. What I don't know is if the 2024 Broncos have the same hardware are the previous model years. There were some changes for the F150 and Mustangs for 2024.

Is your truck fully updated to the latest Sync? What strat is you IPC on?

To check what modules have pending updates, someone would need to run the VIN through PTS or FDRS to check. Message me the VIN and I can do it for you.

I’m on 23159 also.
But neither my IPC or GWM are up to date right now. My IPC shows -AF also.

Off topic, but: Are you showing any IPC or GWM updates pending, or are you stuck there at 23159? Do you have FDRS access? If you are not showing the GWM you need to progress to the next APIM update and you have FDRS, message me. I may be able to help.

Yeah it keeps requesting to update the GWM.
I just haven’t allowed it to yet. I have automatic updates turned off at the moment because my Bronco is tuned on e85 and I was worried about a PCM OTA update happening at some point.

But yes I do have FDRS access, I meant to manually do all the updates the other day but just didn’t have the time. And unfortunately didn’t bring my VCM 3 home with me this weekend.

Oh, I can relate. I'm also tuned so I have auto-updates off for the same reason. They're trying to ram one down my throat right now. lol

If the GWM is showing for you, then you're fine and not affected by the issue.

My ZFG tune is being installed next week. I have OTA updates turned off, but how do you go about updating once you have the tune loaded?

For all modules other than the PCM, you would need FDRS access or a dealership to do it.

Is it easy enough to learn how to perform the updates at home with a 2 Day license? I would worry that the dealership would override my tune, no?

FDRS is very easy to use.
@RagnarKon has a good YouTube video of doing some updates using FDRS.



Either way, as long as the dealership doesn’t change the PCM software you would be fine. Plus the ZFG tune can easily be loaded back in if they accidentally do.

my Bronco reports there will be a software update tonight - something that improves the window operation.

Maybe the guides meant the pending announcement of the 25MY Bronco which might announce that all 25MY Broncos are getting all-digital clusters like the Braptor and Chinese Bronco. If that does come on the 25MY, I hope it is backwards compatible. If it is, Ford better build up a HUGE stock of the part or else it’s gonna be back-ordered for like a year.

Raptor gauge definitely isn't coming to our tiny little 7 inch screens but going to cross my finger for MY25 announcement with digital dash as mentioned by others in this thread. Hopefully Ford doesn't make the jump to the Android system yet like they did in the MY25 Explorer so we can maybe do an IPC swap on 21-24 models
