I know this can be an issue... Makes a terrible, annoying squeaking noise inside the truck.
It was totally fine right up until I power washed the Mule.
Does Ford use a lube on the rubber bumper? A Petrol based product would eat the rubber 🤷🏻
Whats the best fix?

Mine seemed pretty dry so I don't think they lubed them. They are pretty soft though which may be the problem. I switched to poly Energy Suspension bumpers when I changed wheels/tires and they are much denser, almost no give.

Yeah, I can see them squished a bit under the tension of the wheel...
Maybe I'll try some Armour All or other cheap trim protectant on it before removing and inspecting it.

I have the same issue. Can anybody tell me how to remove the bumpers from the tailgate?
I put some lube between the bumpers and the tailgate which stopped the squeak so I was thinking of putting some double sided trim tape on them so they won’t rub on the paint.

Watch what lube you use... May eat away at the rubber...
I notice mine squeaks wh never I wash it, so water is getting down in there.
I s'pose you have to remove the spare to access the bumpers...

So, this issue just isn't fixing itself anymore. Before, it would get wet then squeak for a day and be fine. Now I can't live with it anymore.

I did the TSB for the mic top spacing in the rear corner. Mine was fine but I still opened it up some.
When it's cold out, it's quieter. In the mild, spring days it's annoying as hell!

Have you lubed all the gaskets and seals around the tailgate and lift gate?

Lubed the hinges on the gate and window, latches... lubed the rubber stops on the window/gate. Greased the spare bump stops....
🤷

It’s the weatherstripping seals.

And that got rid of your squeaking?
That’s complicated lol. If you’ve done everything you’ve said you’ve done, this will fix yours. The seals should be the first thing lubed when troubleshooting the cargo squeaks.

Napa Sil Glyde is a silicone grease made for this kind of stuff. About $12 a tube. A lot of manufacturers use it on rubber components because it doesn't cause it to degrade or swell.
