Spare Tire Cover: Total Newbie Questions

I bought this spare tire cover for my 2023 Heritage. I've never owned a car with a rear mounted spare nor used a tire cover before. Question: When I wash the car should I remove the cover or can I keep it on? The exterior is a water proof vinyl but the interior has a nice soft felt lining. Will this get damp and moldy if I keep the cover on while handwashing the car? If I need to remove it, should I just clean it by wiping it down with something like Vinylex or is that overkill? Just go naked tire and rotate spare into 4 on ground.

Give your Bronco a thorough wash and dry. Then take off the cover and inspect it to get the answer.

Just pretend it's not there. The UV rays will destroy it before the car wash will. Any external vinyl fabric is a wear item, 5yr max.

Yes, I do a five tire rotation at each oil change (5K miles). I will wash the car then and then reinstall the cover on the spare each time.
