I talked a little bit on the forums about how I’ve mounted my Starlink mini. At first I had it stuck face up flat to the roof with Velcro and it worked fine and stayed, but I didn’t want to deal with overheating...never happened, but it could I suppose.

…If you have the larger pods for your rear speakers it actually works great as a Velcro mounting location and gives Starlink some room to breathe. Probably works with the smaller pods too, you just need to find as many contact points for the Velcro as make sense and it will hold up fine.

There’s industrial-strength Velcro on Amazon you can buy (pics below), the glue does not melt until 199°, at least that’s what it’s rated to allegedly. It’s super strong from a Velcro standpoint for certain. I mean this thing is not going anywhere and I do drive over some gnarly terrain here in North Carolina. The mountains, the trails at Uwharrie National Forest, you name it. I do not baby this car and this thing does not budge at all.

It’s mounted on the passenger side pod so that it easily is wired through my Molle panel in the rear and down into the 12 V in the side panel.

Hard top fits. You can pull it off when you don't need it.

$18 solution that's quick and simple...yes, it's expensive velcro ha!

Highly recommend.

Slick. Have you considered making a mini air deflector to mount in front of it on the cage? My own paranoia would require this.

Also, what extinguisher is that, please?

Thanks! I did, but it has a safety wire that goes through the stand and wraps around the metal bracket that holds the speaker. This way, if it does happen to blow off, which it hasn’t up to 80 mph, the safety wire will catch it. It is damn solid.

That’s an Element 100 with their roll bar mount.

That’s a lot to trust on that wire. I was changing mounts and broke that plastic very easily trying to slide it out. But I think that’s a great idea with the top on.

I don’t suspect that I will ever have to count on that wire. this thing is going nowhere.
