Special thanks to @RHeinz for posting this. I installed mine today using pretty much the same method. I bought some 2" x 1/8" aluminum stock, drilled a few holes, and bolted it up. I used a small piece of velcro tape on the back edge of the Starlink to hold it form sliding, but that may have been overkill with the aluminum pressing on it. I just fired it up, but so far in congested western Washington state I'm getting about 60 down and 15 up, about 1/2 of what I'm getting from the Starlink on my roof. Off to Moab in a few days, but again, thanks for the idea. It's not a very elegant solution, but for about 30 mins of work, this is such a simple solution and total cost was about $10 in hardware, plus $35 for the dedicated charger. I'll probably visit Send Cut Send when I have more time and build a proper bracket, but I just can't seem to justify spending any more on a different solution unless I go full roof off more often, which is rare where I currently live.

How stable is the dish? Does it have any side to side movement that might create rattles in the future?

And I ordered a refurbished one for $50 more last week. 🤣🤦
I almost ordered a refurb one a just after Super Cel too, but hesitated on pulling the trigger cause the next time I'd possibly need it isn't until October and I'm trying to buy a house between now and then, but $299 was too good of a price to pass up. Thanks for taking one for the team 🤣.

Looking to pick one up at Best Buy today for the $299. Is there anything else needed to buy or does everything come in the kit?
Also are you all using the 50gb Roam service and pause the service when not out using it? I plan to do some trips here and there so don't want pay for service during the winter months.

For me this will be my backup home internet service that replaced the current 5G fixed wireless I pay for, same $50/mo but unlike the fixed wireless I can take this with me on a trip and it will work in areas without 5G service. Otherwise, yeah I'd probably just pause it when I don't have a trip, you pay by the month and can activate it more or less on demand from the starlink app on your phone or the website.

The receiver kit has everything you need for a basic set up, there are tons of aftermarket power cords, mounts, and cases for them you may or may not need depending on the specifics of your use case.

Thanks to @BlarneyStoned for posting the deal, helped me pull the trigger on the mini. I had the larger 3rd gen dish and couldn’t find a good way to install it since it was so big. It also used twice the power as three mini so I’m happy to upgrade.
I used a similar bracket but tried to put a rivnut in it. That turned out to be a huge PIA without the proper tools.
All and all I think it will work for the time being but it is bouncy.

Mounted mine today.
Magnet mount to the Turn Off-Road overhead molle panel. Run thru a Jackery Explorer 100 Plus, which is plugged into the rear 12V port.

Sir, what mag mount are you using with the mini and overhead molly panel? I would like to use the same setup. Is it still working well?

Very much appreciate you sharing the mount link. My Turn Off Road molly is on order (currently back order) and now I can order the mag mount. Thanks again!
