Totally agree. Get what you want. But if you get an outer banks, don't expect me to wave back. ?
I like the Bronco, I can use it hunting, at my farm, and it’ll be nice at the lake house, but as the VP of a bank, I also need creature comforts for clients.

Ok, so here goes.

I’m getting a Big Bend trim.

Whew, that wasn’t so bad. <and cue the chairs>

Truth: my Bronco will cost ten times more than each of the last three cars I’ve bought. I’ve been a used car buying lifer. Always wrenched on my rides, sometimes before I even got to drive them for the first time. Wife got new cars, took hers on trips, you know the drill. Me? I’m always thrilled my car makes it and I always have a list as long as my forearm of stuff it needs.

So yeah, after all is said and done I’m liable to be buying a $50k Big Bend, it hurts to think about that. I know what you’re thinking but it’s not about being able to afford it, it’s the change in mentality that is bending my brain.

I saw the reveal on the 13th. The Bronco somehow lodged in my brain. The next day it was all I could think about. I must have watched their PR videos a hundred times. By the end of the day I was saying it out loud:

“You need a Bronco.”

So yeah, I live in Michigan, and I’ll never crawl on rocks. But I’m looking forward to car camping and crazy trips where I’d never take the wife’s car. And yeah, I’ll prolly get Arizona pinstripes all over it before it’s a year old. And that’s ok. Coz it’s a Bronco.

So now to the topic at hand: status and how to handle potential fellow Bronco owners ego’s when they want to peacock in front of me with some shiny new accessory. You know what? After all this pandemic crazy stuff going on I’m looking forward to hearing even the most inane blah blah about some doodad I could not give a crap about.

To make the whole encounter more palatable for me I may pop a cold one and drink straight from the can. Feel free to grab one, too, coz talking Broncos is fun.
Cool! Since you'll be getting a Big Bend, you can put this proper ASCII art in your signature:

o===o

Also, it snows in Michigan? Right? 4wd could prove very useful.

Texas? Most property is private, doesn't snow, ranches are smaller than they used to be etc.

I have a question. So when someone mentions something positive about the Wildtrak, do all Bandland reservationists ( it’s a word now!) immediately get a cell phone notification so they can “set the record straight” about how their build is far superior? Just an annoying observation. Who really cares? We all know who does though....;)
Carry on!
Even you FAR superior model potential owners in a year from now people. :)

I definitely don't see the Bronco as any status symbol. I see it more as a vehicle I can use for places I want to go without breaking it. I am getting the Lux package but not for status. I just like that stuff.

What are you talking about BaseSquatch is the far superior build. And it's 20 grand less than what you dumbasses are spending on the higher models! Bunch of panzies with heated seats and crap smh.

Whew, I feel better now ?

What pisses me off is trim shaming. Getting called poor for buying the lower trim level. Or calling base models poverty editions. I see it all the time in the F-150 groups. If you don't own at least a Lariat you are low class. Sorry but even the base Bronco isn't cheap in comparison to other vehicles out there. And if you can afford one you are far from poor. People just need to get a life and quit worrying about how others spend their money or use their vehicles.
I started with the 4-dr Badlands and didn't even consider any of the other trims. Then I started looking closer at the trim comparisons and fell back to the Black Diamond. I'm still there, but recently, I have a strong desire to consider the Base 2-dr. There is something alluring about having the minimal build and slowly add mod's over time. I intend to keep my Jeep Liberty Limited as a DD. It is 17 years old with only 85K miles. I'll run it for another 5 years and then give it to my nephew. The Bronco will strictly be a toy.

You know, I've been thinking alot about this thread and I don't know that I have seen any trim shaming yet. There have been discussions on capabilities. What you can or choose to spend on a model (before starting personal customizing) doesn't change the fact that we are all equal as people. That said, I don't care for posers. That said, I don't think anyone on this forum could be considered a poser. Anyone on here who won't take their Bronco off road because it's not very accessible or doesn't want to bash it will no doubt jump at the chance to scratch an Off Rodeo Bronco up in a heartbeat. I feel that all on here are off road enthusiasts at heart, which is what matters to me. If you are a 20 something rolling on 24" wheels, we probably aren't going to talk much. There are differences in capabilities of the stock Bronco's when we take delivery and not being able to talk about them is like the participation trophy problem. Any talk about financial status should not be tolerated.
