After a week in the shop! Noticeable hesitation between 1400 and 2300 rpm’s. Ford first thought is was mapping issue with transmission. Then onto valve check, now going to try replacing torque converter clutch solenoid. Only 600 miles.

I think they all do this. You should take it in or try a performance tune.

Engine? Sounds like a possible boost issue?

Is it only noticeable when in motion? Did they hook it up to a scope and produce a graph (while stationary)

35 years ago I would have said your carburetor accelerator pump is leaking.

45 years ago i would have said remove half of the stupid emission vacuum hoses as you have a leak.

Which even with fuel injection you might have a vacuum leak

Torque converters do not fail out of the box or even at 600 miles. To guess without seeing, or Hearing (like The Who's Tommy) I would first look at fuel starvation, not transmission.

Did you drive off road and over a rock that pinched fuel line.

Are you using Top Tier gas and proper minimum octane for your engine or due to inflation buying the cheapest ,87 (or less) crap gas? One fillup of lesser fuel can be noticed right away.

Last question (for now) is it in all modes, normal, sport, econ?

Last last Q, does it act up for the tech when he/she takes it for a road test

Thank you all for your input. To answer some of the questions:
Yes, the hesitation happens consistently and tech said is noticeable. I use minimum of 91 octane. I did get a service warning referencing drivetrain on my way to dealer. No, have not been off road at all.

Which engine? I assume your profile is correct and you have an OBX so we know your transmission is an automatic.

Last last last

What is boost doing during the episodes? There is/was a known issue with a loose clamp on a hose somewhere in the turbo department, to wastegate perhaps

I don’t understand why you’re trying to troubleshoot this when you have a full warranty-if your current dealer isn’t helping, take it to a different one.

Put it on a chassis dyno. That should give a good indication which direction to go.

I'd say because Bronco owners, and folks who own other car brands like to hear about similar issues, and how they were dealt with.

It’s been at dealership since last week. I’m posting here in hopes someone knows more than dealer does

Probably just normal torque management. Does it primarily happen at lower speeds/lower gears? Doubt they’ll find anything actually wrong with it. But keep us updated either way.

When does it happen? Is it in traffic when you are trying to change lanes? The pre-collision assist will cut power if it thinks you are going to hit someone, even if you are just changing lanes.
