Sorry for the late reply to this. I wanted to give everyone an update on this thread…have finally found the source of the ticking noise at idle. Ford tech confirmed that a pvc pipe was missing from manufacturer that was triggering that noise in the engine bay. Will confirm once I have the part number used to fix.

That's bad that a whole PVC pipe was missing. Sheesh...

Hopefully no detrimental effects caused by this.

Isn't there vacuum on that and dust/dirt being sucked into intake?
Not sure I’d have to see the plumbing, but on diesels for years we did pcv reroutes basically dumping it to atmosphere to prevent oil from gumming up the intake and turbo wheel we also capped the intake tube side so you’re probably right it would suck in a little something depending on your environment, I’d be concerned if I was in dusty conditions and a long period of time

It’s in French but the summary is : They had to order the PCV valve. Tech confirmed the ticking noise complaint once engine is heated at idle (or lack thereof based on what they told me) they did a self test and didn’t generate any codes. They installed the pcv valve, rechecked the noise and there isn’t anymore air escaping.
