Strut tower bolt issue

Wanted to see if anyone has had this issue and what you did

I installed a leveling kit and the strut bolts don’t stick out as much which makes since since the leveling plate takes some of the space

I have an ARB compressor mount from Grimm off roading which the support mounts bolt to one of the strut bolts.

So the leveling kit plus the compressor mount cause me to not have enough treads for me to have the bolt on all the way like the other ones.

I rather not buy a whole new mount for the compressor but will if I need to

any suggestions?

Yeah that's a tough one. Personally I think I would see either see if there is another hole or two further in that you could add another bracket to move that one too. Or drill another hole to move it to. Hard to say without getting in there. Definitely gonna take some fabri-cobling.

The official answer would be to knock the bolts out of the shock (they usually are just pressed in), and replace them with longer bolts.

You don't necessarily need new "press-in" bolts, you could use standard head bolts - just harder to get at to tighten since you'll need to be on both ends.

I've always heard you need to be able to see 2 complete threads on the bolt after the nut is tightened to ensure it's strong enough to hold. Even without the bracket your bolts aren't quite long enough for what you are running.

Unofficial, that's like 2.5 outta 3 so 83%. So assuming the engineers have a 50% safety factor your good and I'd run it that way....for about two months, until it bugged me too much and I took @Brian_B s advice and installed (at least one) longer bolt(s).

thanks. I was debating taking of the leveling kit and calling it a day but wanted to avoid removing the strut. So prefer to avoid the
Stud swap also but good option
I was hoping there was something easier lol

I bit the bullet ordered a different compressor mount that doesn’t request it to mount to the bolt.

so we good now since the nut gets all the treads like it should
