The mabett set up works very well and automatically comes on with the door opening and when you turn your lights on and look like they belong there.

Does it shut off when the door is closed like the dome light or do you have to manually shut it off?

I didn't want them to come on when the doors were opened. So, just wired to a hot and only turn on when the switch is turned on at the light.

Yes there is. I ran the wires behind the airbags.

Great stuff, we love to see the innovation and creativity everyone is using to fix this problem! We've done something very similar on our Bronco with our RGB+W Rock Light Kits. The interior Bronco lighting is... non-existent so we came up with our solution! Since the kit is dimmable, it works well in all sorts of situations.

I had these in my Badlands. They were great, not too harsh light. Went well with my rear dome light. Unfortunately, I was told they would not work in my Braptor.

Still looking for a suitable solution. I will check the OP option.
