Having been unhappy with the interior lighting of the Bronco, I upgrade the interior lighting using Govee LED under lighting kit. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0969PDDP5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and wired it to Aux 6 Switch. The default setting is white but it can also be set to any color or sync with music( I will never use that feature, but is there for those who want a disco Bronco). I couldn't be happier with the results, its like daytime in the car when I turn them on. I can also dim the lights using the Govee app but for the most part I never have the need to open the app. The default white full on works for my purposes. Hard to beat for $50 in parts and a little sweat equity.

The whole process took be about an hour an half to wire. I used the Aux 6 switch and wired it to the rear white/orange aux wire in the passenger side rear. I had to remove both covers of the air roof air bags to fish the wire along the roll cage (yes, made sure to secure the wire to not interfere with the opening of the air bags) to the rear cover of the roll cage. The covers are the only trim pieces secured with bolts. The rest of the top trim and side trims are all held in place with body clips. I pulled down the rear roll bar trim piece to store the LED driver/Control and fished a wire down the passenger side pillar to tie into the Orange/white aux wire. I stuck the lights on above the airbags on the soft top front brackets using 60lb double sided tape and the rear lights on the rear roll bar just behind the passenger seats. The install is clean and you hardly notice the lights until they are on.

I couldn’t stand the lack of light in the stock soft top, so I followed this tutorial today. Definitely took longer than him, but overall super happy with how it turned out. Lights are wired into aux 6 for now. I ran all of the wiring behind the dash or behind the roll bar air bags. In passenger glove compartment it is wired to brown/white and shares a ground to the right side of the head unit with a spade connector

I was think about doing this same thing but different location with Baja Designs lights found one that should work perfect. only should need 1 light for the 2 door.

Those look nice! Do they wire to switch or is that a button on the light?

Both was thinking about putting right between the factory lights were that hole is and tapping into that power if it's possible.

NICE ... especially like the red hue ... can it go blue as well?

Hey can you show the way you did the wiring? also, are the lights on both driver and passenger side or just the passenger as its shown in the pics?

Yes there is a phone app so you can make it any hue and have it change colors. I did both driver and passenger, so 4 lights total. The one I bought came with 6 so I may add 2 more to the cargo area. I didn’t take many pictures during the install, but here’s a few that I just took. I put the light controller in the glove compartment, I still need to clean that up some but ran out of time before my husband got home with my kids. I connected the red wire from the controller to the brown/white wire in the glove box. I connected the ground wire to an existing ground behind the head unit. From the controller I ran the passenger side wires by removing the body panel next to the grab handle, 3 clips, just pops off. From there I ran the wires under the black weatherstripping, undid the airbag panels with 5/16 socket. Slid the light behind the airbag and into the b pillar. Attached the front one with mounting tape on the bracket that’s there. To get to the back corner I removed the rear airbag panel and pulled down the cover underneath it just enough to slide the wire in. Rear panel just pops off. Followed the same thing for the drivers side, other than the wire wasn’t long enough for the rear driver side. So I spliced the wire and made a connection under the B pillar. To get from glove box to drivers side I fished the wire right behind the screen, there’s just enough room there.

I also blew the fuse for aux 6, so the fuses for it are in the engine compartment. Fuses 60-65 are for the aux switches. I think the one that blew was 65.

I hope that makes sense.

OP, tell me about the climbing wall behind your pictures! Is that at your home? Bouldering or taller?

Also, great job on the lighting - the soft top definitely needs more and I’ll be doing an upgrade at some point.

Nice catch! Kids bouldering. It was actually a gift for my older son a few years ago. We’ve moved a few times and are now in a rental house and don’t have room for it so it’s just in garage storage. It’s just 3 panels of 4x8x3/4 plywood.

thanks, it’s was a fun project and the kids love all the color options
