Everyone is absolutely entitled to their opinions. But I will never understand the vitriol some spew towards large trucks. I had two Rangers in the 90's that I loved and put 200,000 miles on a 98 S-10. But I have three kids so I have a crew cab Titan XD. It pulls trailers, hauls lumber, navigates farm roads and, yes, occasionally goes to Walmart. What's wrong with getting as big a truck as you need?
No vitriol from me. Just defending small trucks. Sounds like you use a truck as a truck. Living in Houston there are a lot of people who drive a truck and will not once use the bed for more than a cooler once in a while and don't even have a ball installed to tow with. Those are the guys who will laugh at a 1985 Toyota truck with 500,000 miles because it's "small"

More correctly, it was heating up until Chevy threw cold water on it. They haven't made an attractive truck in decades and aren't about to start now.
They have the most truck sales of the big three. Clearly people think they’re attractive.

Well, the Chevy designers are all on crack lately anyway. Anyone like their new truck grilles? Geez, like something from the Phillipines.

This Chevy makes the Ridgeline look really good.

Chevrolet Cheyenne To Return As Ford Maverick Fighter?

A recent trademark suggests that it might.

For the first time in decades, the small pickup truck market is about to be saturated with options. Hyundai just released the sharp Santa Cruz with Tucson styling, and Ford will soon release a truck positioned below the Ranger called the Maverick. It's too soon to predict how large this market could become; still, a major truck manufacturer like General Motors should consider building something smaller than the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. According to a new filing with the USPTO, it might be.

GM recently filed a trademark for the name "Cheyenne." The registration is "intended to cover the categories of motor land vehicles, namely, trucks." Anyone familiar with GM will likely recognize the Cheyenne name, and there are several different routes the company could take with this application.

They’ve been trademarking the Cheyenne name for the past 20 years. They actually sell a Cheyenne (Silverado) in Mexico.

Outside of the new corvette I agree. Well, I think the Blazers are pretty sharp looking generally speaking. But man they just ruined the Camaro design, it was so bad they had to change it a year later people hated it so much. The new smush headlight truck look. 🤮

Gotcha. I visit Bring-a-trailer a lot. It never fails when a Toyota or Nissan from the 90's comes up for auction, people come out of the woodworks saying, "Now THIS is a real truck..."

A truck is a truck if you use it like one. Otherwise it's just a funny-looking van.

Which brings us back to that Chevy Cheyenne.

Not Chevy. The Sierra saves GM's bacon every year, but for the brand, Chevy is not close to #1.

The other day I saw a mint condition Baja. Had to stop and talk to the dude. He bought it brand new.

I think when you add in the Colorado/Canyon GM's entire truck line up edges out Ford's line up.

People buy GM because of brand loyalty and a relentless bashing of the king to try to make Ford look bad.

But it's no longer a Blazer. It's more of a Highlander.

Around here, every other truck is a Ram or Ford. The only Chevys I see are corporate work/fleet trucks. Be interesting to see what a F-Series/Ranger/Maverick lineup will do for total truck sales. Might be enough to remove GM's last bragging point.
