I know that the Bronco uses both Torx and Torx plus. I have read somewhere that Torx plus is only for the bolts on the modular bumper, someone can confirm?
I am not gonna have the modular bumper so I am trying to see if I need Torx Plus bites or not.
I never even knew there was a Torx-plus. More tools...

One other note, when ordering a set make sure your getting Torx Plus, not TP that stands for Tamper Proof Torx. The tamper proof have a hole in the middle and are NOT what you need.

They aren't.

Tamperproof Torx Plus

Avoid anything that says tamperproof. Look at the pictures. You don't want the hole in the middle. Be aware TP can = Tamper Proof and/or = Torx Plus in descriptions.

This is the set I bought and has worked great.

That's the one I was gonna get but then got all confused. I'm an accountant! Not a mechanic....began to wonder. Thx, I'll grab that one, then.

So these would be good for anything requiring torx+ on the bronco and the other said would be fine for the traditional torx bolts that are also on the bronco then. Right?

My understanding is that there are both on the bronco.
I thought I'd read that everything was plus...?

I have no idea, as people on here have said they used torx+ then someone else will say they didn't on another thread.

????

Everything I've done was with a 6 point torx bit but have no idea if it was torx+ as it didn't say. Since everyone said you needed torx+ not to strip them, I was trying to acquire a set. But im like you, completely confused at this point.

I haven’t come across anything that isn’t Torx Plus yet, not saying there isn’t any idk. I’ve taken apart modular bumper, windshield cowl, hardtop, and the rear speaker pods. The pods have 3 bolts and 3 different sizes. I’ve used TP 25, 27, 30, 40, and 45.

I'm gonna keep the set that was apparently mislabeled as I might need it for something else and it was cheap. I wish I knew what was the exact difference between torx and torx+.
When you know, it’s very easy to look at one and know what it is.

Now you know:
