Two regular Torx bits in my kit. The smaller of the two worked fine on the bolts to my hardtop (so not torx+). The larger of the two appeared to fit the bolts for the modular bumper but did not - needed the torx+.

If you have a hardtop or plan on having one you will need at least one regular torx and one torx+ bit.

Do you realize that there is really no useful info in all those pages? Some of us just want to know if every Fastener is Tp! For example, the rock rails?
I was just trying to be helpful to those asking some questions and you are just being rude.

Is there a significant advantage of Torx+? Assume it must be in the assembly process? It’s a PITA. Sort of like JIS or Posi screws. I just ordered a set 😕

Boggles the mind why they use these Torx+ fasteners, and really built them up on the modularity level. But they don't even include the bits to remove them.

On the larger diameter fasteners you can visually see the difference. On the smaller fasteners it is a little tougher. You can use a Torx bit in a Torx-Plus fastener. However you cannot use a Torx-Plus in a Torx fastener. Here is a good explanation.

How the TORX PLUS Drive Works

Ford Bronco Torx and Torx Plus question 3dtorxplus
Unique, elliptically-based geometric configuration
maximizes engagement between driver and fastener
True 0° drive angle virtually eliminates the radial forces that cause stress on fastener recesses with vertical walls
  • Allows increased seating torques while retaining current bit life spans
Large cross-sectional areas at lobes to maximize torque transfer and increase torsional strength
Higher torque removal capability than any other drive system
  • Helps minimize damage to boss during removal and reinsertion of the screw
Ford Bronco Torx and Torx Plus question sidewalls

Vertical sidewalls
completely enclose the driver tip, reducing tool slippage and virtually eliminating camout
  • Prevents damage to the fastener and surrounding surfaces, which often occurs with cross recess fasteners
  • Eliminates the debris camout can create, which can damage sensitive applications
TORX Drive TORX PLUS Drive
Improved fit between fastener and tool minimizes wear on the drive bit
  • Drive bit life lengthened up to 12 times
  • Downtime and costs are reduced since significantly fewer drive bit changes are required
Compatible with TORX® Drive for field service (internal recess only)
  • Allows field service personnel to use existing TORX tools
  • In order to fully realize the assembly line benefits of the TORX PLUS design, TORX PLUS tooling is required

*Amazon description says made in China. Amazon description is wrong.
When I clicked through your link and looked at them it says “country of origin: China “.

I also bought the set from Amazon, and a quick walk around the vehicle for obvious fasteners (Bumpers, MIC top, and 2 different sizes at the mounted side mirror locations) all fit nice and snug. So at least four different sizes from that kit are relevant. I haven't checked underneath yet, but I'm sure the kit will cover whatever is under there. It's affordable, and a tool set I didn't have.

Actually, I was just trying to get an answer, like many, many others, which weren't answered until just above. I've followed those 7 pages for naught as just about every OTHER answer was given other than what we need! lol So I was merely pointing out that that was one of those useless threads....but that's what we're here for! Sorry I seemed rude.

Get the set. Ive used 25, 27, 30 and 40 so far. If you own a Bronco you need a Torx+ bit set, unless your a take it to the shop kinda guy.
