I bought a set of Big Bend wheels with tires to put on my base and had them installed at a third-party tire shop. The TPMS light went on and they said they cannot turn it off because they don’t have the latest software to do so. So I booked an appointment with my local Ford dealership to get them to turn the light off, but now they are saying the TPMS sensors on the wheels i bought will not work with my car and they cannot turn off the TPMS sensor warning since it was from a different vehicle or different year vehicle even though they are both broncos (i have a 2025 base). So now i have to pay to take the the tpms sensors off the steelie base wheels and install them on the big bend wheels. Do you have any suggestions for this? They want $300 CAD just to remove the TPMS sensors from my steelies and install them on my big bend wheels. I don’t understand why they won’t work since it’s the exact same car…

what year is your Base??

If it's a 2025, they use different Mhz TPMS sensors from the 2021-2024
So you'd need 433 Mhz TPMS sensors if it's a 2025 Base

All I know at this point is the TPMS sensors need to be 433 MHZ - the older 315 Mhz sensors will not work for the 2025 MY.

It sounds like this is your issue - you can buy the new style 433 Mhz sensors from Tire Rack
or just use the ones that came with your Bronco steelies

433MHz Tire Pressure Sensor TPMS | Tire Rack

A lot of tire shops are not aware of this change for the 2025 Broncos yet

This. No need to buy new sensors. Just take your Base steelies along with the set of Big Bend wheels and swap sensors. 300CAD by the Dealer is ridiculous. There has to be a Discount Tire or similar shop around that can do the swap.

For the OP that is a good idea, but for me, I want to keep my stock steelies so I can swap back to them if I want, I will go with this FP kit as I like the fact it has the "re-train" tool - TPMS sensors at Tire Rack are $40 each so the FP kit is only $90 more and I get the re-train tool as well and easy to swap wheel/tire sets back and forth.

I bought 4 used rims with no sensors then turned off the tpm with my flash Cal programmer, that didn't cost me a dime. I've been driving for 60 yrs first vehicle I had with tpm was A 2005 hardly ever paid any attention to it. For all you younger guys who don't know about this, there is a little tool, called a tire pressure gauge, you just plug it onto your tire stem and presto you now know your tire presser. LOL. just a little humor guy's

I'm another old dude - over 60 - BUT, I like this technology, its saved me a bunch of times alerting me of a nail in the tire that I had no idea was there - I find the TPMS very useful.
