I have no special insight into Ford but.... if I were a C-Level Ford person, I'd want to get the revenue I projected for next quarter fixed ASAP. Therefor, start pulling 1/2 and 3/4 built trucks that are sold OUT to get the cash IN.
Ford will still get the cash for those. The rail company has insurance. Ford should make out better on those than selling them through the dealer. The only thing affected will be the "sales numbers". They will get all the money and do not have to share it with the dealer. Not sure how they will be paid though. Typically you get Actual Cash Value for a vehicle that is totaled. That may not apply here. ACV on a brand new vehicle may be more than sticker price.

Wow. I know that house, haven't been in it, but it's so close to the tracks. Bet if someone was home (and it looks like there was) they had quite a terrifying show right outside their windows. That train was likely westbound, and was approaching West Williams Jct, where the Phoenix subdivision peels off. I don't know whether that train was headed for Phoenix or for points west.

Glad to hear no one was hurt!

Cheers - Jon

It could have been El Mirage bound too. Trains go along I-40 to Ash Fork and then head south down the hill to Phoenix from there.
Ya, I looked at the rail routes after I said that and realized the wreck happened less than a mile from the turn towards the valley. So it could have been headed south.

Just hoping the wife's new Bronco was not in one of those 21 train cars,
Showing it was shipped 6/4/23 headed to San Diego

Based on past forum members' responses here (Bronco 6G) to just about anything... "THIS IS FORD FAULT and THEY SHOULD PAY UP!"
