Sorry for the terrible photo quality. The sun was in the worst spot.
Learned about the Big Boy locomotive as a kid in the 70s.
Had a once in a lifetime chance to view in person this morning in Houston.

Pray tell, not so young chap, what is this Bog Boy locomotive you speak of?? 🧐
It will be in Ft Worth Oct 10-11. Built during WWII, it's the last of 25 in operation. It's the largest steam engine in operation.

Sweet ! Headed to ft worth Friday to check it out. Probably no Bronco pictures with the Big Boy! I started following it last year online and maybe will get to hear the steam whistle. You don’t hear that very often.

Dream jobs: paid Bronco tester/influencer and. Steam locomotive engineer or fireman. Back up job conductor! That whistle gets me. I would even wear the appropriate bib overalls and hat. I am going to ask if they are taking applications.

A steam locomotive is a heck of a thing to see operating, you step back when it blasts by at speed. Awesome machines!

Back in the 70's my buddy's father was a rail fan, and would take us along on photo trips. Before GPS and all, we'd map out the route and note various rail crossings, and then race from one crossing to the next to get photos and record audio (with a reel to reel tape machine) as the steam locomotive passed by.
