What does checking for live modules mean?

Ok, guess I'm a rookie but, what does it mean when you check to see if your modules are a live and what am I looking for ? Tks

So you're vehicle's computer system is made up of multiple modules. As those modules are programmed and added to your vehicle, they are assigned to your VIN number. Once that happens, they appear on the website under your VIN.

It's just a handy way to track your vehicles build process. If you see the modules start to populate your vehicle is headed down the assembly line. That's about it, it doesn't really tell you much beyond that.
