I had the opportunity to go to the Winter Driving School in Steamboat Springs, CO. The instructors could do AMAZING things in both front wheel and rear wheel drive cars. Maneuvers I would have thought impossible on ice.

I thought about adding one to my Bronco. Then after thinking about it, a TruTrac would negate the turn assist feature. A selectable locker would be a better choice, if you ever try to use the trail turn assist feature, otherwise the brakes would be trying to overpower the mechanical lock of the TruTrac. Wished I would have got the rear locker.

I had no idea Trail Turn Assist was causing issues for members here, looks like I will never use it again.

Being from Wisconsin....
1. don't drive faster than the conditions warrant.
2. be aware of how slippery it is, wet snow is slipperier than dry snow, generally the colder it is the less slippery snow and ice are.
2. put GOOD all season tires on.
3. for an inexperienced driver 4WD auto is a great choice if the roads are a combination of snow/ice and dry.
