What's Actually Driving the $5K Big Bend Upgrade Cost??

Can someone explain why there is roughly a $5K increase on the Big Bend? It seems like I will have to pay $5k to have the OPTION to pay MORE for some of the benefits like heated seats, modular bumper, Mid Package, etc. I'm getting ManSquatch and build and price shows the Sasquatch package costing full price on the BB and I don't see why you would get that model with the Sasquatch at that point. The only thing tempting me to the BB is Area 51 , but I can't see how rear window tint and leather shifter and steering wheel wraps cost that much. Is it just me or am I missing something?

I think it’s rather that the base 2 door is just lower than they would like to sell it for to appear competitive with wrangler starting price.

The base 2d is a loss leader in the US.
Here in Canada we have a $1000 difference from base to Big bend.

Big bend price is similar on both countries. Base is way cheaper in the US.

So for 1000 you get fog lights, leather controls, tinted glass, upgraded wheels/tires, one more goat mode and more color choices. A no brainer, you wont see any base models here in Canada.

If you look at the trim upgrade cost for every trim it's about the same other thatn base 2dr to 2dr big bend.

4dr to 4dr is not a big jump. It's the same as every other trim.

I think this because they artificially dropped the 2dr base price to make it a loss because they don't think they'll actually sell very many but can still advertise the vehicle starts at 28500 making the truck seem more affordable than it actually is.

If they offer less choice on this vehicle it'll be less appealing and theyll sell less of them and won't have to absorb as much loss on it.

If they kept pricing on this consistent with everything else it would be just over 30k and they wouldn't have that entry point to draw as many people in then up sell them.

It's good marketing. I not suggesting it's not slimy but it'll work. Not on everyone but enough to make it worth it to ford.
