As I pour through the threads here, any suggestions for the best TBC for a ‘24 Raptor with the factory 7 pin connector? I understand there’s a pre-wired connector on the right side under the steering column that the TBC can be plugged into.

I’m curious which hardware you used, where the controls were mounted and complications/operation.

Thanks

If you just want a "plug and play" setup, Ford sells a complete kit. This is the kit my neighbor uses (helped him install it) on his Big Bend, and he hasn't had any issues with it. Admittedly I have not personally verified that it works with the Raptor, but as long as the connector is there under the steering wheel, it should work just fine.

Their instructions calls for the brake controller to get mounted behind the glove box, with the controls in the center console next to the window switches. But you can obviously move it around—the most common I've seen is next to the headlight switches.

If you don't want to go with the Ford kit, Redarc themselves sells a kit designed to work specifically for the Bronco and has a few special modes designed for off-roading and towing with SUVs that are not really purpose-built tow vehicles (like the Bronco). Someone at the local cars and coffee used this kit with their Bronco Raptor and he said he liked it a lot. Wish I had asked him what installation was like, but I was completely unfamiliar and didn't know Redarc sold that kit at the time.

I've also seen a few people use the CURT time-delay trailer brakes, but I don't see why you would do that when proportional controllers are available.

The Ford kit is Redarc based, but I would use the kit from Ford its custom. I have the Ford kit on mine and it works well. I put the dial in my light control panel.

I went Redarc, which is what the trailer’s brand recommended. It works well.

There’s a few writeups on install on that one that are really helpful. IIRC, @Ice Age did a video with the step by step although I prefer the @vrtical dash location.
Definitely go wired adaptor and not Bluetooth actuator adapters made by Curt or Echo tho.
