I don't have my Bronco yet. Does anyone have a workaround for the issue? Cover the interior plastic with PPF?

To @Ford Motor Company ‘s credit they do observe and report back issues/complaints coming up and discussed in forums like this and some things have been changed down the line because of it so there’s a small chance that the interior plastic composition could be improved by the time you take delivery but otherwise get over it quick or become bubble boy/girl/dog/cat/chair/luggage/gear/etc and don’t even think of looking at it or breathing on it.

Jeep's plastics quality improved when they received complaints from the first year or two of the JK. I had a 2007 and the plastics were about comparable to a hard wax. A fingernail would easily cut into the surface, albeit shallowly. The plastics that Ford has decided to use are comparable to those first JK's, if not slightly worse. The interior plastics may be utilitarian, but they lack durability. I'm happy with utilitarian, but not the latter.

XLT F150 plastic quality = cheap and will not age well.

I've owned a number of F trucks over the years and the quality used to be pretty good - not great, but much better than the plastics in the new vehicles. I've noticed the exact same thing on the new BMW motorcycles and that started about 6 years ago.

On the other hand the Honda interior in my wife's '22 CRV Hybrid is excellent.

The rest of the Bronco is too much fun to let the crappy plastics ruin my day - so I moved on.

Bit of a random question, but figured this was the best place for interior issues talk -

Have there been any upholstery issues with the MGV? Easily ripped, scratched, etc.?

My daughter has the MGV in her Bronco. No durability complaints from her. She said it is hot to the touch so far during the summer months. The leather is much cooler to the touch in mine. Might want to start a new topic or hit the search for other answers.

I'll agree it's hot to the touch, but I'm also amazed how quickly it cools once you sit on it or it's out of the sun. Just gotta brave that first heat.

Remember that Jeep has had since 1994 to work on getting the interior of the wrangler to where it is today. Not making excuses but hopefully we will see if @Ford Motor Company updates it in new models.

In the meantime, who wants to 3D print some better quality interior parts that they can sell all of us to swap out? That person would make tons of money if they can create new dash, glovebox, ect with better quality plastic.

Yes. It’s so unbelievably bad. I’m shocked that a vehicle made to rough up and take off road and such is so unbelievably fragile.

I’ve had my bronco since may and it looks in worse shape than my other vehicles I’ve had for 5+ years.

was thinking of maybe getting a coat of line x on the interior or something later down the line when it gets really bad but so far i am incredibly disappointed in the quality of the interior plastic.

Yup, my daughter scratched my glove box with her book bag. Jeep uses much better and more durable plastics.
My daughter did the exact same thing!
What's funny to me is, the JKUR I just sold had the exact same school backpack scratch on the glove compartment for most of it's 14 year life.

That said I noticed the scratches on the mannequin at our dealer withing the first two days of them having it. I do think Ford needs to upgrade the resistance of the smoother plastic in particular.

Had whole windshield tinted, had to be redone, probably a heavy handed Neanderthal doing it but dashboard offered no resistance:

Also have deep scuffs in panels of back seat (2 door) from things sitting in the back seat and on floor simply making light contact with them. I have found that a black permanent marker works well on those. Take your fingernail across any panel and behold the magic!

As others said, my daughter destroyed my dash and glovebox with her backpack, before I figured out what was going on. A fucking backpack. The cargo area looks trashed and I hardly ever put anything back there. Its the worst interior quality I have ever owned, and no where near the quality of 20+ years of Fseries and Expeditions.

Just curious: these look like minor surface scratches: have you tried applying 503 protectorant, or Amor-All (sp?). ?
