Anybody else remember the good old days when vinyl seats and rubber floor mats were "stock" and you had to upgrade to get carpet and cloth?
Exactly! I have a hard time paying for that upgrade when it was the cheepest version forever. I’ll take my free carpet and cloth upgrade

It's still that way with the trucks. My SD has rubber floors and a transfer case lever and I love it. The Bronco is a totally different animal where cheaper materials and clashing colors cost more :p

At this point I've done so many builds of Big Bend and Black Diamonds with Squatch all approaching $50k.
As of right now, I'm leaning Base 2 Door Squatched... You can't beat that for $38k.
So it seems I lied yesterday. Now I'm leaning Base 4 Door Squatch. Check in tomorrow I'm sure it'll be different.

Best bang for your buck sure points toward the base.

According to how the election goes these are my two builds ,LOL . Nothing wrong with the Base Sas'd out . I'll add remote start and tow hitch plus do some grill mods etc on my own if I have to .

What is the final price there? It looks amazing!
I prefer more usable off-road options/accessories than bells & whistles inside, so this is my build:

2.7/Auto, Sasquatch, Aux Switches, Floor Liners, Rock Rails, Tube Doors, Soft Mesh Top, Heavy Duty Mod Bumper, Winch & Pod Lights

PRICING SUMMARY
  • BASE MSRP
    $28,500
  • OPTIONSS4 & ACCESSORIES
    + $13,719
  • DESTINATION CHARGES
    + $1,495
  • TOTAL MSRP
    = $43,714
  • ESTIMATED NET PRICES
    = $43,714

I changed to a 2.7 auto yesterday and today I’m thinking I’m back to a 2.3 manual.
The rest is locked in: 2-door base Sasquatch, auxiliary switches, vinyl floor covering. Nothing else.

I looked at the BD, BB, but now I am on the basesquach frame of mind. I value the performance over the creature comforts. I am in a 01 F150, so anything modern will be a big step up for me. I am running a 15 year old Alpine radio on my truck so carplay etc will be a big step up. I do wish I could get the Race Red, but thems the breaks.

Depending on your frame of reference, the base has many creature comforts. I started driving in the late 80s when options were AC, automatics, power windows and door locks, and lumbar support. ?
And the tape deck.

I just did 3 builds almost the same as yours.
Base, BB and BD.
On the BD, I added CO paint. Couldn't resist.
Left out the mesh top and lights though from your build, @Bullitt

So much for the " Moving up in Trim Level saves you money" line. ?

I've done very similar builds like yours all the way up the trim levels. And I keep coming back to the Base 2-door. For the money, there's nothing out there even close...and I like that. I think the base 2-doors with some good factory off-road options/accessories will hold their value quite well. Huge fun factor for this price point!

@Papow Leadville Marathon finish pic. I've run several Leadville races but not the 100 (yet). Ran the Leadville 50 Miler last year and loved it! Here a few pics from that race.

Just wonder if the rock crawl mode in the BL adds anything special?
If you have auto, using two-footed technique (simultaneous brake & throttle) will compensate for loss of rock crawl feature (no dampened throttle response). Plus you will also have to activate 4L+lockers, turn off traction control, and set steering assist to maximum manually.

More important difference is lack of heavy duty skid plate in base, and lack of swaybar disco. But likely can be addressed in aftermarket eventually.

Yup.

Ain't going lie though,....

I wish the BD evened out better.
Tricoat paint may be a total bitch to fix scratches in, but Cyber Orange still pulls the heart strings.
