Winch Cover Necessary

I have a RC winch with synthetic rope. I park outside and was wondering if I should keep my winch cover on?

Moisture trap or UV Protector?

If it’s parked outside where sun can hit it, keep it covered. Go by harbor freight and buy a couple of ratchet strap extensions ( like 2 bucks). Keep on in the everything drawer in the kitchen ( they are about 2 feet long) and one in the back yard where the sun can hit it). Look at both monthly.

seeing the difference after two months will set in your mind just how damaging UV radiation is to these materials…… and may also cause you to wear a hat if you’re going to be out in the sun. It’s sucks for any kind of synthetic strap/rope, it really sucks for skin and a MOHS procedure is no great time either….. thankfully I wasent that handsome to begin with and facial scars keep the riff raff away

Anybody know of a cover for a Warn VR12 with a remote mounted solenoid?

I simply cut a piece of corrugated plastic sheet to fit in front of my drum.

Cover the wench...Always...Always cover your winch, until it is time to actually use the beauty.

For me, my winch sits inside the bumper so the factory cover doesn't fit. Instead I bought some rubber matt from amazon and with a little shaping with scissors... Have mine covered.
