When I do leave my key fob in the vehicle, I do keep it in a faraday pouch, and it is hidden away. You can't lock the doors if the key is in the vehicle and isn't in a faraday pouch.
I lock my key fob in the car all the time without a faraday pouch. Press last 2 keys on the wireless pad simultaneously and it locks.

2024 … Any suggestions of where to locate the Wireless Key Entry Pad on the RAPTOR (other than the drivers door) so it is less conspicuous to the casual stranger wondering by? (Bronco can mount it inside the fuel flap door, but RAPTOR model, it does not fit per the dealership)… Appreciate the suggestions...
We are a Ford family so we have lots of Fords and all of my keypads have always been on the driver’s door. I’ve never had an issue with any of them. On one of my Broncos I decided to put it inside the fuel door. I hated it there, so I took the old hairdryer out and relocated it to the driver‘s door.

Yeah, I don't understand the fuel door location at all...seems really stupid, inconvenient, and pointless. Paranoia much? 👽

For some, like myself, the keypad on door looks clunky 1990s gimmick but with a CAD 15K discount on a 2.7, 4A, brown fabric interior and advanced cruise control I overlooked it. Now don't even notice it.

I would personally look for a more discreet spot if had to have it. Now that I know can lock key inside in a faraday could have some use! Never thought of that before.

To each their own, but I think most people do it because it sticks out and looks awful anywhere on the actual exterior.

I suppose if you have it body color painted it looks slightly better, but not much. Still looks like an afterthought.

Hidden under the fuel door eliminates that and doesn’t make it any less convenient 🤷‍♂️

Appreciate the insight of your experiences with the keypad location.

I think some people use a faraday pouch to prevent someone from breaking into the vehicle, starting it up and driving off if a key is detected. Remote possibility but feasible especially if they see you leaving the vehicle knowing you left the fob behind.

Of course, I support anyone else's decision to do as they please with their own vehicles, just never made sense to me, for reasons stated. If others like it there, more power to them! I still think it's dumb...🤠

Agree. My statement was correcting the other posting stating you cannot lock the fob in car without a faraday bag.

I have my Raptor keypad on the inside of the fuel door. Works great, just need to place diagonal and remove the casing.
