I was given some advice/guidance on wiring my IAG amber grille lights and want to just be sure I was given the right information. I have a 2024 Bronco Badlands and the grille lights were wired with fuse tap to upfitter switch #6.

Thank you for any help you provide.

I'm a bit confused, do you have the upfitter switches? Normally you'd just tie into one of the wires under the hood. Only reason to use a fuse tap is if you don't have switches and want something to turn on when the truck is on.

I do have the upfitter switches. I was advised to do it this way so that I did not have to deal with the wiring, but I will take it apart and do it the correct way. Thank you for your guidance. Any good sources out there to learn how to do it the right way?

Thank you for your help.

Accessing the upfitter wiring for front lights doesn't require any disassembly. There are just stub upfitter wires near your front drivers side firewall under the hood, ready to connect. You just make a patch wire to get to the correct switch and an extension to the new light.

For a small load like Grill lights (I'm assuming these are like the small Raptor running lights or lit letters, not big behind-the-grill spotlights or anything) -- those things you are probably just gonna leave on all the time -- no issues wiring them up with an Add-a-tap like you have in your pic. You won't be able to turn them off without popping the hood to pull the fuse - but for small lights like that, generally, you just want them on all the time the vehicle is on anyway, and Fuse 6 will do exactly that. I wouldn't burn an upfitter switch for something like that, unless you specifically wanted the ability to shut them off and run dark.

Like @Brian_B stated, if you just want them on with the lighting cicuit, this is how we instruct to wire them. If you want to be able to switch them on and off, use the upfitter.

Agree with above if you want the lights on any/all time Bronco is on ... i went a little different route and tied my grill lights to the headlights so they are on/off with the headlights

Used this adapter ... SPV Harness Parking/Headlight Connector Adapter ... install was pretty straight forward .. unplug the headlight plug (passenger side if i recall correctly - access under the hood) and plug the head, harness and aux lighting into the adapter ... the lights turn on and off with the headlights

just a thought . . . .
