Been following the situation on fb and commented a couple times to counter message the crap comments. Obviously glad you are good but so disappointed to hear the rig is done. Hope you can find something.

Yes, it could of very easily been deadly for me or my dog. I'm pretty calm in panic situations so I manage to shut off the engine, open the window, throw the dog thru, grab my phone and climb out.
When we go back to got to Garneau Quebec, the next day, a friend helped me pull all my gear and all my accessories. It'll go to the local dealer there...
And for sure there will be episodes! Probably 3 of them.
Just viewed the vid where it went it and for some reason, my dash cam was in time-lapse... So no audio and the entire deal lasted 6 seconds 😔
I might be able to make something of it though
Glad you guys are ok and I’m sorry you went through this. As painful as it is, “it’s just a vehicle.”

I keep a seat belt cutter and window smashing tool in my Bronco (and the wife’s vehicle). Although I hope to never need them, it’s a situation like this it could be life saving.

Glad you got out okay. Hurts to see, would love to see it get rebuilt. I'm assuming its a manual, not sure I saw you state that anywhere but since you put the parking brake on I'd figure it is. Going to be a hard vehicle to replace but you'll find something.

EDIT: Never mind, checked out a couple of your videos its an auto. I've seen a few of your clips before, I recognized the "crunch" of your original grill on that ice.

If your insurance totals your Bronco, hopefully they’ll let you buy it back on a Salvage Title.

Then you can either try to dry her out or part her out.

Given the Bronco parts market, it can be more money than a truck sold whole

I'll be looking for a seatbelt cutter and window smasher for sure...

Not too many people experience a vehicle/water situation like me and my dog did.
Even fewer are around to talk about it. And that's a fact....

I remember as a kid in the late 60s on the back of my dads Honda 90 exploring old overgrown roads in northern Ontario. We would come across old bridges exactly like that, out in the bush on some 50 year old logging road. I always had a good case of the puckers going across those things.
glad you got out ok!

I was reading to say exactly the same thing. We used to go a couple hours down a river away from a little town called Vermillion Bay in Northern Ontario. Loved riding my dirtbikes on old logging roads. Bridges were exactly the same up there. Took me right back to the 80's. I was always a little scared of them

@WuNgUn Glad you and your dog are safe! Can't wait for adventures in my 2dr

Sucks.

I appreciate the heroic story to recover it. But sounds like it was probably totaled regardless of whether you got it out in a day or never, no? Didn’t read every page here btw

The important thing is you and your best friend are safe. It also shows that there are many great people that are willing to take their time to come and rescue you and for the folks that had the cabin God bless them for being so caring. For all the haters just ignore them.

I saw this on Bookface as well...glad you are ok! Oddly enough I have gotten a few running after situations like this and the motor will probably be ok. #1...do not attempt to start it under any circumstances. #2 remove all spark plugs. #3 drain all fluids and leave the vehicle sit overnight in a dry place. #4 refill all fluids. #5 crank engine over w/plugs removed (if possible, if not possible, you may now go about diagnosing and repairing why the engine will not crank). #6 only then attempt to start the vehicle (will likely be a little difficult, and if it does start will smoke like crazy for a bit...don't panic)...just saying if you wana try and buy it back from insurance. Even if you don't you could do the next guy a favor and pull the plugs...if it goes to insurance auction those numbskulls will for sure try to crank it and bend a rod! Man what a story! Glad you are ok!
Yea I have gotten a few running again after they went for an extended swim. That you got the Engine off before it ingested water is good, but might not mater if it was submerged that long.
I agree with all these steps.

DRAIN everything!!! best thing is with everything drained and open(and plugs out) have it in a dry garage with a few de-humidifires running for atleast 24 hours, you want to get as much moisture out of everything.

dont forget to drain your diff's and transfer case as well
