For the second year in a row, my wife and I road tripped down to Moab from WA State over Thanksgiving. (Last Year's Trip: '24 Moab Trip Report)
This year we left on the afternoon of Friday Nov 21, stayed in Boise, then drove into Moab on Saturday the 22nd (1080mi and about 16 hrs of driving). We stayed at the Gonzo Inn again which was just as charming as the first time. We then spent 5.5 days off-roading, leaving at noon on Black Friday. We had incredible weather this year with most days sunny and 55°F
Highlights this year were Poison Spider, Sevenmile Rim, and making it up Top of the World (no snow this year!), as well as being able to share the magic of Moab with a friend of ours who drove down for a few days.
We still can't get over the beauty of Moab and the surrounding area. Such a departure from the Northwest- endless vistas, views, and rock formations here. Even though this was our third visit, it still feels like we hardly scratched the surface of things to do and see.
Trails we ran:
Klondike Bluffs to Escape via Baby Steps to Tower Arch & Eye of the Whale
Poison Spider
Gemini Bridges & Four Arches Canyon then Dead Horse State Park & Long Canyon
Sevenmile Rim
Top of the World
Willow Springs Rd
Enjoy the photos!
