Delivery Time to Utah

Hoping to get some intel from others in Utah (or other western states). My backdoor link tracker went from built (yesterday) to shipped (today) with, "Estimated Delivery 4/5/2023 - 4/11/2023" .

I'm wondering what are my odds that my actual delivery happens between those dates. (Trying to 'time' the sale of my Badlands to minimize how long we have to live as a single vehicle family.) Do most people end up taking delivery at or before the original estimated delivery date that's there after it's marked "shipped"


Also, when I asked my dealer for rail car tracking information, he said "Nothing can be tracked." Any advice?


(p.s. anyone looking to buy a OW BL SAS with 7500 miles? )

Once shipped, about 3-4 weeks.

I got the rail car from my dealer, but it wasn't in the standard ordering system. I think they had to look somewhere specific.

The problem isn't the rail car, it's the rail yards on both ends.

Mine took 7-1/2 weeks to Phoenix.
2 weeks in Rail yard in MI
1.5 weeks on the choo-choo
4 weeks in the rail yard 12 miles from my dealership.

3-4 weeks is typical, but vehicles are low priority, so pretty much every other type of freight gets loaded 1st.

Mine arrived at the Salt lake rail yard 3 weeks after shipping, but it took another 7 days to make it from the holding yard to my dealership in West Valley. I got my rail car number by pestering my sales guy and followed it using the CSX rail tracking automated phone system. If you go up to the forum header for “tracking” there’s a whole thread there including people who had the same problem with their dealer not giving them their rail number.

I am also waiting on my black diamond to be delivered. My dealer guy said it was loaded onto a rail car a week ago but no updates since then... The wait continues

What is sales tax for you? And do you have an outstanding loan on the BL? If there is a loan and you need the funds for the BRaptor purchase then it can get complicated. If buyer for your BL comes to you with financing that will only issue a check to your lender then you'll want to get it sold in time to send that payment to lender and have them refund any overage.

Depending on your sales tax locally and what dealer will give on you trade, it may be worth it to trade it in to dealer.

As previously mentioned, Ford Chat can track the rail car for you if you have your VIN. They will completely lose track of it once it hits the receiving rail yard though.

Mine to took 9 days to get to AZ rail yard. Hasn't been delivered to the dealer yet so can't comment on that.

Jan 27th received email saying it was shipped with an ETA of Feb 13-19. Delivered Feb 10th and took delivery that same day.

As previously mentioned, Ford Chat can track the rail car for you if you have your VIN. They will completely lose track of it once it hits the receiving rail yard though.

They can only track rail if tracking information is available. Both Ford and my dealer (Granger) have no rail tracking information. Granger said anywhere from two weeks to two months. Gee thanks!
