Here is screen shot from kracker fab insta video watching ADS shocks.
I would like to know if the limit strap is significantly trimming the extended length of the shock.
But, even if it was limiting the extended length to that of the Fox, it would still have more travel. (according to numbers provided above).

Check out that CV angle.

*this is an ultra 4 car with front portals and aftermarket lower control arms. I can't imagine they would use stock axles.

I’ll ask them what they are limiting at. Limit straps are an easy fix we can do if needed or wanted by anyone.

So based on those Fox and king numbers it really looks like ADS hits the sweet spot. Not to mention they have real world experiences in the NORRA 1,000 on a Bronco as well as multiple Ultra 4 races including King of The Hammers race (not just tooling around but actually in the 4600 race) with rave reviews from the drivers of those vehicles.
Sweet spot?
Can you confirm where these measurements were measured from by chance? example: mounting surface to mounting surface and mounting surface (top hat) to center of bolt.

I'm very familiar with U4 and the number of teams who have been running Fox on their 4600 Bronco for over a year now, but IMO, it's tough to compare. Not likely they have off the shelf shocks/spring rates/valving/inline coolers and running portals/custom axles etc.

this is good info. Thanks. Do you also happen to have info for the SAS stock bilsteins for comparison? Curious what FORD thinks the sweet spot for extended length is in the front.
Extended rear: 26.125" Front: 23.3125"

If factory max extension for SAS configuration is 23.3” in front and you guys noticed binding in the CV half shafts at 24.6”. That doesn’t allow for much of a spacer lift before the front differential should be dropped or straps to limit extension. Good to put some real numbers to this. Thanks for info.

The set run in the NORRA 1,000 was off the shelf. Kracker Fab is running a different set of ADS now due to portals etc. I was able to confirm. The measurements are likely where everyone gets their measurements, upper mounting plate to lower eye front and rear.

Similar to other vehicles we work on, this type of thing is often overlooked or dismissed for looks vs performance. We like to lean on the safe side and not push the limits of these OEM fit shocks. I will be adding more specs to our current articles and making new ones on our website about Bronco shocks in the near future. We will have max recommended shocks lengths at ride height etc. Coming soon!

Would be great to confirm. Fox shock lengths on their website are actually not the same as what we have posted in here. Seeing that ADS has a similar front extended lengths as King, seems as though they would fall into the same issues we've encountered.

We are early in our testing of them but I’ve talked to many who are running them on their broncos and using them (not just mall crawling) and there have been zero reported issues. I am very confident in the performance of these shocks and very confident there will not be any issues with factory components related to the suspension travel of this kit. We had the choice to run any shock we wanted and we chose ADS for good reason.

I did the NORRA 1000 a few weeks ago, for clarification Safari Rapido class, not the race class with internal cages ect but we move a long fast on the race course, we get out of the way of the Trophy trucks, safety is priority. I will try to add a short clip below if I can figure out how to do it. As a reference point, I did the 500 with stock Bilsteins last year. The difference betwen sasquatch Biltseins 1.75? and ADS 2.5 is night and day. Not saying anything bad about stock but after market is just way better for what I want to do and I don't think Bilsteins were made for repeated full compression. I blew them easily (just my opinion).

Because I put the ADS on and then headed to Ensenada, with very little prep time...as always a lot going on leading up to an event, I will be making changes to the rear and then probably change a couple of shims to front and rear to slow comp/reb depending on what makes sense after adding a hundred or so spring lb rate to the rear.

On a CAT truck stop scale near me I am just over 6,000 lbs fully loaded and need just a bit more ride height. Floor Jack, 6 gallons rotopax gas, pleanty of tools, spare tierods :) , 2 cases water, beadlocked 37s... it adds up. Not basic bro-dozer skinny jeans setup, not that there is anything wrong with that. I push it with weight. I may also be changing out the fenders as there was contact on all 4 corners on whoops and catching mild air when coming down from full droop. Probably pushed it beyond intended limits but I wouldn't have it any other way. 99% of you won't be doing this, bet me...

If you want to rip, anything will need properly tuned. I am very glad I went this direction. I don't work for anybody in the industry, ADS etc. I am a just corporate finance guy and this is just a hobby for now.

I believe eibach 2.0 fronts are 17.77" compressed and 24.2" extended but I haven't been able to find any data on the rears. A table like this to be able to compare will be awesome đź‘Ź

F: 17.0625" R: 18.625"

If we are getting this specific, would be nice to confirm how the ADS shocks are being measured like I mentioned before. Mounting surface/top of top hat to center of lower shock bolt (rear) or mounting surface of bar pin (front). Shocks can be measured a few ways, so if we're comparing apples to apples they need to be measured the same way.

I agree. It feels wrong putting 4 decimal precision on this where every measurement was done by different people with different equipment. Zero control. :(

This is just the first thread I came across with more than 1 product measurement so it made it easy to compile.

Oh, I should ping @popo_patty as he's working on a Bronco shock comparison. Not sure if the chart data is useful for you.

Would be cool to add spring rate. I've seen a couple numbers thrown around.
