Otay. Metal Tech frame horn reinforcement. Quick review-

They work. When our axle shaft broke on the rubicon we were needing winched or pull aaaaalllloooooottttt. The bumper no longer flexes precariously when the OEM tow points are being used. Looked solid as hell.

As for the installation-some minor trimming will be needed. Not a huge deal but it’s part of it. If you don’t have a body lift you will absolutely thank yourself for buying a set of ratcheting open end wrenches. If you don’t, you’ll be thinking “gahdang if I had some ratcheting open end wrenches this would be so much easier. Do I really need these bolts? They’re not even that big. Just stupid and…okay we need them. Fahk.”

Pretty straightforward besides that.

I aint installing, I'm going to pay someone else to do that, but will let them know that.

I’m still a proponent of rear winch for the bronco unless you’re forking over big bucks for the unit that goes inside the frame rails, but it’s a little more involved to install.

I have carried this with me for years, luckily never had to use it, but it has a boat-load of great reviews/use on YouTube. Easy to pack in my tool box I throw in the back. You can winch from any angle or direction easily with one of these

I'm trying to understand if this solution from Maximus can prevent upward loads? Is there something that will prevent it from rotating on the single bolt on the back?

Sure, will definitely help with pulling loads but some of the better ones should help with upward or downward loads.

I believe it will help with up/down loads. Think about that single bolt being the pivot point. You would have to bend a lot of metal up/down. Without, it's just the flimsy metal at the end that is bending back, ripping off the frame, etc. With this there, even single bolt, 4" of the boxed frame would have to bend up/down and or sheer.

I installed the Lobo Offroad kit over the weekend and am glad I did. The nut plates were ready to fail and my truck's never had a winch installed. Well, it's never had a winch installed before. It does now.

Everything bolted up beautifully and the kit is super stout. I appreciate the supports running as far back on the frame as they do, and the extra tire clearance is a bonus.

Ignore all the goop coating everything in the pics -- it's rust prevention stuff.

Anyway, happy customer here. They sell a nice kit and it got to me in about a week.

My thoughts are that 9 times out of 10 you’re pulling UP on the bumper if not straight out. That would lead me to believe that MetalTech’s version is superior due to the top reinforcement.

But…they need to be powder coated. So that’s another $50+. So, either way $300.

No, sorry. I bailed on it after I was reassured I wouldn’t need the reinforcement with the bumper I went with. But, time will tell I guess.
