Wow, Rivian 10.6 seconds at 128, quarter mile. 1025 horsepower and 1198 pound-feet of torque. That was enough to propel the 6987-pounder.

If the budget allowed and with some lottery money, it'd be a nice addition to the fleet! Certainly a capable and excessive beast!
Agreed, but replacement it'd never be.

I was looking at a Rivian for the wife but they're in deep financial trouble which sucks as I'd take them over a Tesla any day (if you had to buy electric). Plus competition is good for pricing.

And that's before adding 800 lb in accessories and 800 lbs of people. Where is the 100- 0 stopping distance and G data as well as 100 mph off road desert footage.....haha selective data at best aside from weight is # 1 enemy of any passenger vehicle unless plan on crashing.

Contrary to the title of the thread - the article is just a Rivian review, not a comparison to the Bronco.

Yeah, the quad motor setup is seriously impressive. And seriously expensive.

Rivian has a lot of good things going for it, but is in a spot of trouble and not without it's own brand of issues. They are on my radar, as well as Scout - for when/if I ever replace my 2016 F150 that mostly just gets used as a gopher, or if I ever decide to turn my Bronco into a weekender and not my daily.

I'm not opposed to EVs just out of spite - they have some great use cases, but not every use case is a good match.

“horrible” depends on your expectations and benchmark. It’s better than a 2026 Braptor:
