Update 12/31/25 - I went to Sheehy Ford in Gaithersburg, MD and when we looked at the top together, they did see the delamination that I showed them. We noticed that all four panels either have the honeycomb issue or are delaminating and need to be replaced. My Bronco is garage kept and the MIC has only been on for less than 12 months and 12k miles. They also showed me photos of replaced MIC top panels that do not match and reiterated that replacement panels might be worse than my current panels. Ford should provide an option for the painted hard tops that don’t appear to have the quality issues. It doesn’t make sense to keep using a product with known issues. I know most MIC tops appear to be fine, at least for now, but we all know there are issues so why continue to use a product with known problems without improving the design and / or manufacturing flaws? The issue with the MIC is frustrating and disappointing as I enjoy the Bronco overall.

Update 12/29/25: The dealer informed me that their technician does not see any delamination, depsite me referencing the figures in the GSB that I feel are virtually identical and providing my photo with the blue circles. They did find the honeycomb issue on the front driver’s side panel and the rear. They will replace the two panels with the honeycomb, but warned me that If I go that route the panels might be different colors and that my current top is actually in better condition than many new and replacement tops they see, so it could be a step (or two) in the wrong direction.

Questions: Is anybody aware of Ford “allowing" a customer to pay the difference in cost, approximately $700 based on the B&P, for a Shadow Black-Painted top vs the MIC as a solution to all of the issues? I do belive there are good reasons that this would be beneficial for Ford as the company makes more money, limits future liability, improves customer satisfaction / reputation, delivers the product orginally promised, etc.)

Has anybody that received replacement panels found issues with the panels being different colors?

Original Post 12/6/25: I just swapped to my MIC top and took a close look at it, primarily to check for cracks, as I'm coming up on my 3/36 warranty for my 2023 Badlands. I didn’t see any cracks, but it does look like there are “bubbles” on the top panels. What’s causing this? Is it delaminating? Has anybody experienced this and what if anything did Ford do about it? I’m taking it to Ford on 12/15 as they were very noncommittal based on the pics. What should I expect from Ford and / or how concerned I should be about it? Thanks for any insights and guidance.

That is not normal by any stretch. I would be squawking. I would think the dealer would replace it easily but prepare for a fight.

Dealer has a guide with pictures that tells them what is covered and what is not. Ford still wanted pictures of mine. It was cracks under the window which was covered. I don’t recall if this was when he showed me the pictures. But it should be. Only way they can deny is if it was damage you caused is what I was told. And they will claim some things are stress cracks from removing.
Still bullshit as it is a removable top and all.

So there’s “bad” delaminating and “normal” delaminating. Yours is somewhere in between. I’ve had 4 tops now and all 4 of them have the “normal” delaminating which is the linear delaminating you see in your photos. It is always visible in partial lighting when parking in garage with the door open. Put it in direct sun and you can’t even see it. Very weird, and sucks, but for some reason 99% of them have that linear delam.

The large circular bubbling you have more towards the back center is not normal and bad.

That is warrantable and here is the bulletin that backs it up.

Check out figures 16 & 17 on pages 8 & 9.

Delamination of Hardtop Outer Layer
-Raised patches on the hardtop with no distorted grain pattern or discoloration

Four tops is crazy. Thank you for the insight. We’ll see how the local dealer responds. I’m certainly apprehensive and keeping my fingers crossed that they do the right thing and without a fight.

Thank you!!! The *.pdf you sent should be exactly what I need. In fact, the @Administrator might want to put this somewhere as a resource to others as I didn’t see it in my searches, but maybe I missed it. Hopefully this makes it very clear and simple and forces the dealer to do the right thing. Thank you again!

I received this email from a law firm last week and assume it was from the MIC Cracking website that I entered my info into since I am on my 3rd top. Anyone here received one as well or familiar with the process they are referring to ?

"Hello,

We hope this email finds you well. This message is sent in reference to responses our firm received from you regarding cracked or cracking roof issues you've experienced in your Ford Bronco. Our investigation post into this problem is linked here: 2021-2024 Ford Bronco Leaking/Cracked Roof Class Action Investigation - M&R

Based on your responses, we believe you could be a Plaintiff/Class Representative to get this case started. I am happy to relay information about what this role entails, including how cases like these typically progress and otherwise answer any questions you might have about this role or process. If you are interested in participating, let me know your availability so we can schedule a phone call—or we can otherwise correspond via email.

Kind regards,

I haven’t filled out any forms about my top, so I don’t think I’m on any lists that would warrant an email like this one. His bio says pending admissions in the text and later appears to read that he’s admitted in DC. https://classlawdc.com/team/bruno-ortega-toledo/

Assuming they replace my top as it appears to match what’s covered, how long is the warranty on the replacement? Does it reset the 3/36 warranty on the top or portion of it that is replaced?
No, the warranty doesn’t start over. I believe you only get the remainder of whatever is left of your factory warranty.
So if they replace it 1 day before your factory warranty is up, you have 1 day of coverage.

But I’d have to double check with my warranty administrator tomorrow.

I think you are right. Most parts purchased and installed by the dealer carry a 12 month. But a part replaced under warranty just keeps the existing coverage intact.
