I have a 24 BD 2door 2.7 auto that I bought new exactly one year ago. I have been trying to turn the software updates on with no success. I have tried to enable it on the Ford Pass app and in the vehicle. All that happens is the circle spins for about three minutes and then stops. Any ideas on how to enable the software updates?

I just went into the control panel and made sure they're turned on. You won't see much happen. It will tell the date of the last update.

Sounds like you've got a software issue that is preventing it from turning on. A 'soft reboot' may fix it but likely won't, you may need to take it in and have them force-install any and all updates. This likely has the best chance of turning them on.

That or Ford Pass is lying - which is a very distinct possibility.

If they show as On in Sync, I'd believe that over Ford Pass.

2DR only gets 1/2 the software updates anyway. Most are for the rear doors/windows. lol

Enjoy the Rolling Rocks to Bronco start up sequence while you can. They pulled that for some reason.

I had a similar problem, storing my Everglades for 3 months. It was in a metal storage unit away from any signal. I had to take it in to be reset at the dealer. The dealership told me next time, to remove the battery and keep it somewhere warm when I store it again. It is in the storage unit right now and I will try and get to it this weekend. If the same problem occurs, I am back to the dealer. Will let you all know if it is a communication void or if it is more of the same.

It's worth a try. So how, exactly, do I do a soft reboot?

Hold the power button and the RIGHT arrow button at the same time, while the vehicle is on. Doesn't have to be running.

This is a known issue as of about a year ago after a certain GWM update. The GWM is hung up. The only way to fix it is to disconnect the 12v battery for 20 minutes to fully de-energize the module and force a hard reset. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery for 20 minutes and when you reconnect it and check for updates again, it will make it past the spinning pinwheel.
