Since 2025, TrailRax has been in communication directly with Ford to address changes to the Bronco hardtop mounting points. As a result, we've developed new mounting clamps for the TrailRax Modular Roof Rack for the Ford Bronco that are compatible with both MIC and painted hardtops, accommodating both mounting point variations while maintaining the proven performance, strength, and capability of our Bronco roof rack system.

After extensive testing across all hardtop variations, we're confident these new clamps deliver a secure, reliable fit for every Bronco owner. We appreciate your patience and support as we worked to develop and validate this updated solution.

Would the new mounting clamps be an improvement over the existing ones for those who have the original hard tops.

What is the change?
The new mounting clamps are designed to accommodate the varying mounting point depths found on many of the newer painted hardtops. This update was necessary because our previous clamp design was not compatible with some of the shallower mounting locations.

Other than the updated clamps, nothing has changed. The rack remains low-profile, retains the same load capacity ratings, and offers the same modular design and accessory mounting capabilities you've come to expect from TrailRax.

No, there is no need to switch to the new clamps since your rack is already installed correctly and functioning as intended. For anyone who has a MIC hardtop your TrailRax Bronco rack is already fully compatible with our original clamp design!

I ask because we installed a TrailRax on our '25 with a painted top. When I ordered it there was no indication that there might be an issue with a painted top. It appeared to install ok, but now I'm concerned.

Many painted hardtops were already compatible with our original clamp design, so you are likely all good! To verify proper fitment, you can send us some photos of your racks rear mounting points, and our customer service team can tell you if you are all set.

I was thinkng about this the other day.. Was the issue only with the white interior tops or the dark interior tops ? Did it include both styles ?

We were unable to identify a correlation with any specific painted hardtop color or trim level. Our investigation, along with Fords, indicated that the variation was likely tied to differences in hardtop production specs between manufacturing sources.

So I received my order late Saturday and spent Father’s Day installing it with the kiddos. Overall, the install was pretty straightforward and easy as long as you follow the instructions carefully.

I also ordered a @Diode Dynamics SS40 Pro Smart Select 40” light bar. When mounting the light bar using the supplied brackets, I noticed it followed the angle of the fairing, which caused the beam to point upward. To correct it, I ended up drilling custom mounting holes in the brackets to level the light bar as much as possible.

I’m not sure if I missed something during installation or if different brackets are needed for this setup. I still need to finish the wiring, but another thing I noticed is that the light bar sits farther back than I would prefer.

Has anyone else run into these issues with the SS40 on the TRMR rack? If so, what solution did you use?

First off, happy belated Father's Day and your Bronco looks awesome with the fresh rack!
To answer your question, we recommend using our Universal Light Bar Mounts so you can adjust the height and depth that your light bar sits at to your liking. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Thank you! Will definitely look into the the bar mounts. I’m actually going to be in Salt Lake for the 4th of July weekend taking the kids to Monster Jam Finals! Do I have to order product online for pick up or is it possible to purchase in person? (I Sort of forgot to add a T-shirt to my cart during check out.)

Yes you can purchase/pickup in person at our HQ. Our office hours are Monday - Thursday 7am - 6pm. Our 4th of July sale starts tomorrow so definitely hold off on those purchases until they go on sale!
