So what is with the flat colors... is it supposed to make touch ups easier or are they just wanting to cheap out on the paint because metallic is harder.

It’s because non metallic colors are trending. Its refreshing that non metallics are offered now., nice change from 50 years of metal flake And pearl paint jobs

Just a style trend. Retro return to the 50s/60s. Dodge seemed to start it with the Challenger but now everyone is doing it. I like it a lot. I just wish Ford would offer more than just 4 actual colors (in addition to the 6 shades of gray/white/black). ?

I was excited for this color and even a personalized plate on the ready (see below) BUT this thread has shown me that this color is really common and I like to pick colors that are not common. I hope we get to see some real pics soon

BTW .. what ever happened to figther jet gray?

I think it's the same color as fighter jet gray. They just renamed it. In a lot of pictures it looks very gray. I'm hoping it looks like the Audi TT from a few years ago.

This is Fighter Jet Gray .., it is a special color for special cars .. maybe it will be on the Raptor Bronco

I have... actually bought new in 2013 and new in 2018 but flat colors are so .... well .... flat

figured it was an off road thing but I like to see depth in my paint. If the Area 51 is what I think it will be, I'll go for it. Otherwise, maybe that blue, orange, or red that is still metallic and has more paint layers.

I reserved Area 51 myself. If it more the color of the colorizer on the site then I'm good. If it's more like the color of the sport above then I'll be switching to Catus. I like to more muted Matte tone. The Cav Blue from the Toyota TRD Pro is very nice in person.

No I picked a 4-Door Badlands but was just implying that I was going with Area 51. I have since decided that i want Cactus now.

Think I'm sticking with Area 51 as it's got a bluish green hue. Want a white top and light colored marine vinyl interior. Prefer light grey, but an off white look and the grey dash color is cool in my eyes.

Think Area 51 will also look good dirty and with scratches. Scratches give character and my truck will have a lot of character after a couple of years out on trails.

Flat paint may be easier to touch up or put an off road wrap over it.
