I originally upgraded my rear speakers with 4" Kicker 46CSC44 speakers. I have since bought Mabett's speaker pods and no longer need the OEM pods or the 4" kickers. These came off a 4 door OBX.

I've got a rattle/distortion sound on one of my speakers. I'm wondering if perhaps a clip broke off inside. All the screws are well tightened. I'm afraid to take them apart because they are so fragile. Has anyone take the pods apart and put them back together?
I bought these for the front kickers. Will this (in the correct size) fit in the pods with the speakers or is there something else I should use?

should I get this...
@negativezero Great write up! I didn’t realize you can’t put the speaker cover on with those. @Dadsquatch did your cover go on with the Kicker 47KSC6704?
definitely do the forscan. I put in 4” kickers a few months ago and it made a huge improvement!
I read somewhere that these fit like a glove. I’ll try to find the post.

I’m not sure why you think it’ll scratch. It’s a soft material on the inside. I originally bought the Broncover but had to return it because there was nowhere to tie it on my OBX (Not clipping to painted fenders)
