So I have installed my lift and tires now to move onto my next project front bumper and winch. Can I get pics of the setup you guys have appreciate the help. Also if you know the weight of your bumper and winch set up thx again.
I really like the looks of your setup and the license plate hides the winch. Did you do the install yourself, if so how hard was it. Did you have to relocate the winch solenoid? Thanks!!DV8 MTO V2 with hidden Warn Evo 10 winch with flip up license plate![]()
I didn’t install myself. The winch solenoid didn’t need to be relocated.I really like the looks of your setup and the license plate hides the winch. Did you do the install yourself, if so how hard was it. Did you have to relocate the winch solenoid? Thanks!!
Mount - https://a.co/d/08WXP3rU@carrellslake, can you post up a pic of how you mounted/setup the license plate mount? Expecting my bronco in the next month. Thank you!
I think the Lobo and RC hidden winches keep the original approach angles, ie. they don't stick out any further than the OEM skid plate and you do get a normal winch rope capacity. Both are likely more complex installations and their fairleads are a bit lower so access in mud or deep snow might be an issue. I am planning on going with the Lobo and Warn Platinum with wireless remote control.Howdy,
Still haven’t purchased a winch bumper yet. Most of the options seem to ruin approach angles and I don’t see how some people actually wheel some of these bumpers and not bash in their fairleads, sensors, and winch hooks.
What is the best solution here? The only solution I see is the hammer built hidden winch but you have a lot drawbacks with shorter rope length, pain in ass for spooling in the rope, accessing the clutch, limited winch options, having to install high mount intercooler, list goes on. The other solution but not great is a high mount winch, then you got deal with relocating stuff, and reduced cooling capacity. Ugg.
Yeah I’ve considered a ton of things. I’m leaning more towards Hammer Winch hidden plate and putting an high mount intercooler. Then get the Rock Hard 4x4 aluminum 28lbs bumper to offset weight.I think the Lobo and RC hidden winches keep the original approach angles, ie. they don't stick out any further than the OEM skid plate and you do get a normal winch rope capacity. Best job in the world!

The mount is really versatile and has held up nicely.

No for the DV8 MTO V1 or V2 bumpers.Did any of you guys have to relocate the cooler for the hidden wenches?
I am considering a rear mounted option between the frame rails and a fairlead to the front. It will help CG and with the proper protection I should haven’t to worry about bashing the front.
