We love Broncos but… what’s the most annoying “small issue” with your Bronco?

Having to constantly explain, “Thank you, but it’s not a jeep, it’s a bronco.” Yeah, gets old.

At first, I missed a true hand pull parking break since I have a M/T. Three years later, it doesn’t bother me. It’s actually kinda helpful as my F150 now automatically engages the parking break when I park on our steep driveway, and it’s in the same spot.

That would bother me, as I never manually release the parking brake on my M7. 🤣

Constantly adjusting wiper speed because for some reason once you set a speed after 30 seconds or so they slow down on their own.
This was fixed with an update to the wiper module. You have to take to ford, free.

Soft top rear hatch and how it opens. Everyone involved with the design should have been fired.

Key fob is so big and buttons are too raised I set the alarm off at least once a week, sometimes multiple times, from my pocket just by bending over or lifting my leg up.
I change my answer. It's this. I never, ever, not once, want to even use this "Feature" intentionally. I throw my key onto my desk at work because otherwise there is a better than 50/50 chance of setting it off on any given day.

I really don’t like the auto-rev when I let the clutch out from a stop.
What auto rev? Mine doesn't do that, but I disabled just about every "feature" I could before I left the dealership.

Key fob panic button should be in a different location on the fob instead of being the highest placement on the fob.
I just want to disable it permanently. I can't imagine any situation where I would want it going off.

I used to hate the e-brake on my Lexus, but actually figured out, when set to come on automatically, it would save a little driveline wear and tear when on hills.

If you ease out on the clutch with your foot off the throttle, it will automatically pick the RPMs up to keep from stalling the engine.

My rear defroster cable, and the fact that it’s come off twice…including after a dealer repair 😬
The CarPlay randomly not connecting or playing audio is up there too.

Not talking major problems – just the stuff that slowly gets under your skin over time.

Could be:
  • windshield chips
  • Interior rattles
  • Road noise
  • Something random you didn’t expect
Curious what’s been the most annoying “little thing” for you so far.
Probably windy weather noise, it seems worst than just the high speed driving noise. Especially if it's blowing sideways or at an angle to the direction of travel.

Minor issue, I wish the front camera would show wheel tracks in 2H when you turn it on ... it would help with parking and car washes.

Two things.

One - that little annoying piece along the guide rail of the rear window for the soft top when you’re taking off / putting on the windows. Lining it up to feed smoothly into the main rail holder is annoying!

Second - I wish the front seats could slide back about another inch or two (OBX Lux). I’m 5”10 and wouldn’t mind just a smidge of extra room.

That makes a lot of sense. It’s less about daily use and more about having that control when you actually need it.

Especially in those edge-case situations where electronics aren’t cooperating. Have you ever had a situation where that manual control would’ve made a difference?
For me, it's mainly been two cases that are now obsolete with the 6g Bronco:

-Starting a manual transmission on a hill, now no longer an issue thanks to hill start assist;
-Push/roll starting with a low or dead battery, unfortunately not possible with the 6g Bronco.

For the latter situation I now have a portable, compact, and lightweight engine starter to crank the engine if needed.

Beyond that, I've used the emergency brake to carefully roll a vehicle a few feet when off-road, with a manual transmission that gives more control over the situation.

Outside of those two, there are other possible situations I have in mind:

-Engage or disengage the emergency brake from inside the vehicle even if the battery is dead or the key fob not available.
-It would be nice to be able to slow or stop the vehicle if the regular brake system fails and engine compression* isn't enough to do the job. With an old-fashioned emergency brake lever by the driver's side that's possible, and you could have a lot of control over the amount of braking. Even the front-seat passenger could do it. That's what I told my wife to do if I get a heart attack or something while driving in our other vehicle.

With regard to the electric emergency brake, Ford says:

Applying the Electric Parking Brake in an Emergency

You can use the electric parking brake to slow or stop your vehicle in an emergency.
Pull and hold the electric parking brake switch. The electric parking brake continues to slow your vehicle down unless you release the switch. The red warning lamp illuminates, a tone sounds and the stoplamps turn on when you use the electric parking brake in an emergency.

Great. So I'm supposed to bend over and hold down the switch continuously while steering the vehicle, and (if needed) just before a collision I need to straighten back up so the airbags don't main or kill me? Thanks, Ford.

*Thanks to the deficient engine braking on the 2.3. My Bronco has the worse ratio of vehicle weight to engine displacement of any vehicle I've owned.
